I think there's this thing in the West End of London where there's lions and something about a circle of life, but I can't honestly for the life of me put my finger on what it's called and its relevance to Pridelands.

Oh, cool, Res made an appearing after so much time! So, he lives in Canada. Eh, poor cat, forced to write Pridelands' stories in name of her mom, or owner... I would punish that as cat's labor exploitation. Yeah, do as many vacations as you can, just to stay away from her! But maybe, you only want to see again your beloved Grape for some inspiration... Going to see if Res will be really involved in this arc story.

It's been made clear there's no forced labor here, Res chose to publish it under his owners name cause he couldn't publish it under his own.

Also, I see people acting like Res has writer's block... I think it's more the sudden realization that he's ending his series and he's panicking and he wants to talk to Grape about it or something.

That's why I referred to Rowling. The first thing she did after Potter was 'Casual Vacancy', a TRULY boring book. Her Cormorant Strike novels share some stylings with Potter and are quite good. She went different but with some echoes of the same. If she can, he can.

If the series was set in Canada or France or Australia or something they would.

Judging from what I gathered, pets only really do the boyfriend and girlfriend thing because humans do it.
They don't really take it too seriously as evidenced by Sasha,Grape and Res almost doing a thing in the strip "Cats in the Cradle",Grape's accepting Peanut's idea to go on a date in "Take the long way home, and some other things I may be forgetting.
