Looking forward to seeing more of these pups, especially Rook. :)

Thanks for the present, Rick! Merry Christmas!

Also, very good idea to have the arc end with a timeskip, that way the pups can be aged up a little, enough so that they'll probably have a slight personality.

I just have this feeling that Ace has Heterochromia iridum. I don't know why, but I just do.

Wow, the wait is over and my computer can't handle this cuteness overload! I wonder if Olive is gonna be the little hell-raiser of the three.
Merry Christmas Rick Griffin and thanks for the wonderful work.

King's first two panel faces are just priceless. Proud papa indeed. ^_^

AND THE BOY'S NAMED ROOK. YESSSS~

Wonder where the names Olive and Ace came from? WHO CARES, THEY'RE ADORABLE.

They're here! They're here!
The love for pups is clear!
Two of one, one the other,
Two little girls, one little Brother
A delighted and frighted Dad,
a wonderful and warm Mom
tired and excited,
dreading and delighted.
Growing like weeds at the now,
Jack shows his love. And how?
Elaine made him buy a real gift;
King, Bailey and pups, They're family now.
Them he won't ever short-shrift.

Olive may be for his mum,
The Ace is often the highest card,
The Rook helps the king
The Pack won't let that be hard.
Naming them all as better than him
is a fine hope for the little King
He's a great point for them to begin
and, with him and their mum, they'll win.
Love sweeps the rest from the board
and gathers them in protective arms.
Their power, their strength they'll hoard,
their love becomes defensive charms.

If all the previous strips from this past year didn't earn the Ursa Major Award for best comic strip (not doubting it), I pretty sure that this one alone did.

Now let's start putting down bets on who will be the next couple to give birth to puppies, or kittens.

...Merry... Christmas... To all... and to this awesome comic. Blessings to all.

Seriously, i loved the execution of this. I love that we get to see them when they are older on a holiday and get to see the birth through King's eyes as well. It was perfect. I hope there is something to learn from this from other artists and writers.

Oh, yeah, Ace. Durr. So caught up in the chess references that I forgot about the possibility of a card deck reference.

I suppose Olive could be a relative reference. I mean the only other thing I can think of off the top of my head is an olive wreath (victory)/olive branch (peace), but it's not as strong a connection as the other two.

Part of the reason I think she's named after his mother is people often tribute dead relatives when it comes to the next gen. And we saw his mother in Heaven.

She seems to trust King on these things. Or they talked beforehand on possible names. Or who knows?

well, the eyes are purposely covered up. and she does have one toe pad colored differently, two different eye colors wouldn't be that odd.

Plays I Love You Forever by Two Steps from Hefl (Actual Song, just replace the "F" in Hefl with an "L" in the artist title)

Finally, You've earned your happy ending, King... T^T

Amazing Comic, Rick Griffin. You're an amazing writer and comic artist. One of the best. ;)

Although I wonder if Kitsune is taking a turn too, just to make things interesting for them.

long time reader first time poster... but i gotta nit pick this one....

if king is a corgi as kitsune says up there and baily is a husky..... why do the puppies all look like mutts? they should all 3 look nearly the same and have very corgi/husky features....
example; http://www.corgimixes.com/corgi-husky-mix/

please dont kill me...
