And somewhere in the background of the fourth panel, Tiger and TOD can be heard saying "There's whipped topping?!? Why wasn't I told?"

Also are they showering in that first panel?

I assumed that it's to clean off after being in the pool, hense the Sabrina's wedding reference about the drain being clogged again, due to no maintenance.

Is it national 'shower your character' day in webcomics? I only ever open 'Precocious' before coming here... and Ivy's having a shower in that strip! Honestly, you go years without seeing a character in a shower then you get two in one day...

The plumb truth, in any aniverse,
is their job's a blessing not a curse.
After all, if they'd not begun,
the problem would be much worse.
She's listened to all his fears,
soothed his mind, smoothed his ears
and put the concerns on the run
as she watches, his fear disappears…
Until she gets loose on the bumper cars!
Racing fast amid is 'Oohs' and 'AAAAHH's
as Bailey continues to run and have fun
and King considers hitting the bar.
She's living life to the extreme;
to her right, he just wants to scream...

Ok Bailey has gone mad with power in the last panel.
Oh King still uses a towel, old habits die slowly.
I have never thought about how restricting common human items like drains are to housepets before. Also how much time to they use cleaning up their sheddings.

And Peanut and Grape are using towels in the Book 1 cover, too.

But Bailey, being raised on a farm, is probably used to air-drying.

King and Bailey are "naked" together again. And Bailey is especially adorable in the third panel.

That makes me wonder again, how is "SIDLE" pronounced?

...And here I thought that all pets in this series would feel a need to "cover up" when someone else could see them wet. Peanut and Grape have sortof crushes on each other, so maybe they're the exception, and most pets, like Bailey, wouldn't care?

It's pronounced "Sid-ehl".

I think it's a preference, some pets use towels to dry off some don't. And it would make sense it Bailey doesn't sense she's a farm dog. Also, I think Peanut has gotten over Grape, and Grape has never really crushed on Peanut, as seen here https://www.housepetscomic.com/2010/04/30/just-friends/ Grape has always thought of them as the closest of friends, as siblings.

Okay Bailey? If this were a different kind of comic, your kids would be dead now. Tone it down a notch.
Play The Hayseed Knight. This isn’t self promotion, I just really like the game.

That's the thing about dogs - they're so distracted by the simple pleasures in life and get so caught up in the moment that they tend to forget - SQUIRREL! GOTTA CATCH IT! WOOOO! Darn, it got up the tree. Oh well.
... Was I saying something?

Good, they got the time to take a bath. :) Well, the drain got clogged because of your lost fur, but who cares, now be free to dry yourself like a real dog does! :D How cute and gallant you are, King. ;) We understand you, King, it was a shocking news and you're excited to become a father. :) That's right, Bailey's safety is important, but the individual concerned doesn't seem to care much... More, looks like if she's trolling you. :P Reckless Bailey wants to enjoy life, then, there's the fair with its games. :D

The societal rules among pets in the Housepets! universe say that they're nude, but the rules in our universe say otherwise. As both a human from our universe and a corgi in the Housepets! universe, I feel conflicted.

I think during the arc where Bino decided to be more stupid then usual and "lose" his collar, there was a censor bar over his neck. I think no collars are considered by pets to be nude.
