[ Fair For Its Day ]
Title Text: And no, they don't let you milk the goats. I know, it's a total rip-off!

Oh Bailey... missing those old country fairs already?

They don't have a 4-H booth!? HOW?

Good thing they're not females or Keene would make them give pouch rides.

Anyone else feel the strip's a bit... corny today? I sense Karishad has a theme...

The tickets have come? The tickets have come!
Let's use them now; the fair's begun!
Let's go down and join in the fun.
Move your little legs, hun, don't walk – run!
It's not like the fairs back at my home;
nor like anything in the farm zone.
With Kari in charge I should have known...
Does my regret mean that I've grown?
Without a doubt, I reckon Keen bets
he'll get his money before the sun sets.
He's as cunning and twisted as it gets
whilst still ruling the roost among the housepets!

He's probably even got a cornhole game set up somewhere.

This is nothing better than my two favorite couples together in the same strip, it's always nice to see the two roos again :D
With all these corn booths, I wonder when the holes will come into play...

Being petted is better than being ridden in a roodeo, I guess.

King wins all the points. "You know what, I'll take credit."

In a classic midway, they'd be in a "last three rounds against the champ" boxing kangaroo tent.

"Yeh, Karishad wanted that, I said 'NOPE', and Keene said 'OK, if you don't do that you gotta be in the petting zoo', so I said 'OK', and now I can't tell if I won or not. Ma'am, tell your kid my tail doesn't come off."

Junk food! How dare you! That game of "will it fry" is completely healthy.
And now we must step back and consider the ethics of zoos and petting zoos in a world of intelligent anthropomorphic creatures.
Also King seems to be much more "mature" now, he looks so young in the first panel and in the third he seems to be a smug father/mentor.

Aww...Bailey misses the fairs in Kansas. I've only been to one that has livestock and stuff. The fair is in my town in Kansas too so this arc was well timed. :D

A pet petting at a petting zoo. oh, the awesome irony. Poor Bruce probably died a little inside, but hey, Roosevelt is enjoying himself. =P

I'm taking it all the zoo animals are here... I wonder if any of the pets volunteered to be petted here as well? :3

Now a rodeo would be interesting. Though I don't think there are any feral animals in this world. But, without getting crude, who would be the rider and who would be the bucking bronco?

Point taken. So what would be interesting, as there are no pet horses in that neighborhood, is for Zach to "demonstrate" how to ride but using one of the wolves as a mount. hehe Prey trying to break a predator? Now that would be fun to watch! And of course the rabbit not a willing participant.

I think this is my favorite strip to date! I really love the expressions in this one, especially King in the third panel.
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

Yes I agree with you the expressions are awesome. King's expression in the third panel will most likely be used as an Ava

Oh man seeing panel 4 after reading panel 3 my first thought was "Why not a rodeo with the roos? That would be awesome!"

Did anyone else get major feels from seeing Bailey's excitement and following disappointment. :(

Sometimes I forget how much of a country girl Bailey is.

Also, though I'm sure this sentiment has already been expressed, I WANNA PET A ROO! :D

It's really nice see the great couple going to the fair, good to have got the tickets, King. :D As seems, there's much to enjoy there. :) Yeah, petting zoo is much better than watch rodeo: you can touch the animals in a nicer way. And it's not weird. ;) You'll get another chance to watch one of those, Bailey. ;)
Loving King's expression in third panel. :D

I wonder if this is what the Arc is gonna be like: Each strip containing a pair of characters and how they're spending their time at the Fair. Sounds like a good concept, and a great way to give all of the cast equal screen time. Makes me wonder if this is the last Arc to round out the year, because if so, than its a great way to do so.

My local Town Fair always has a Petting Zoo, and the zoo always has a very friendly Australian Shepherd who acts as their Official Greeter. Unfortunately, when she's not on greeting duty, she likes to roll in exotic animal... um, exhaust. I'm sure Bailey could do a better job!

I imagine some rodeos in the Houspets! universe have the reputation of being staged, sort of like wrestling matches do in this universe.
