[A Long Way Down]

Title Text: Oh you just HAD to opt for death by hypothermia

I believe the feet aren't lucky if they're still attached. Dislocation doesn't count apparently.

An animal trap in a universe where animals are sentient. You'd have to be pretty dumb to get caught in ... Wait, is that a hundred dollar bill??

Just when you think it's all over... you get caught in a 2x4' steel cage.

Love Jess's face in panel 5 (the ears are what makes it cute!)! I will say, when Jess and Zach was sliding down the mud hill in panels 7 and 8, I was immediately reminded of the quarry fight from the movie Mclintock (I NEED to watch that again. Awesome movie)...though I do wonder who owns the cage (Why do I get the strong feeling that someone from PETA, with said person being that dude that worked with Joel in a very early arc, is responsible for said cage and not a trapper?)

Let's not forget, Cory has Zach's tag and collar, so if it is PETA guy like SeanWolf says, Cory may be met with an unfortunate fate... skunknap by flab...

Trapped with the dreamgirl of his nightmare
Zack loses all signs of a domestic.
No tag, no clothes, no wisdom to share,
pretty soon he's gonna be frantic.
What;s that Skunk up to with his collar?
Is his pain in any way worthwhile?
If he touches his ankle is he going to holler
and bring the snow down in a pile?
Now he'll have to talk to Jess; he can't escape.
He'll have to listen, talk and explain
to the only girl more dangerous than Grape
how, in all of this, he's not to blame...

I guess people who carry rabbit's feet in the HP! universe have pretty big pockets and key fobs.

Why would it be PETA? They WANT the animals to live in the wild.

Nah...that was Keene...he's not a pet -- totally different scenario ;)

Wouldn't be an interesting twist if they get trapped, threatened....and then saved by PETA....

OH Zach you klutz.
Jessica should know better than to choose a weak branch by now.
Conveniently placed cage is situated randomly.

So, Wednesday, who rescues them? Cory? Poncho? A wandering gargoyle? Great Kitsune?

Edit: Animals are sentient here, unless you're a hardline reductionist.

I'm liking this PETA involvement. =^^=

Although for now, Zach and Jessica in a cage together, I think there needs to be some needed bonding before help/danger arrives. :)

I don't think so. I don't expect to see Pete and Dragon back in any form for at least six months. Not counting flashbacks, or statues and murals and stuff in the temples*. Which I'm kind of surprised Kitsune didn't clean up. And speaking of which, I wasn't serious about him either.

Being rescued by Poncho might not be so good.

Or really wild wolves or coyotes or foxes or bears. How about a crazy Roger-Rabbit-esque weasel?

Hmmm.

Maybe the old man who speaks only in limericks?
Douglas Collier wrote:Maybe the crazy old man who only speaks in limericks will pay them a visit. :P
Yeh, that.

* I imagine Dragon's temple's still out there too, in the middle of a desert.

I'm honestly expecting a left field rescue here like Cory. Returning with his own failed plan. =P

crunsh is a silly effect in my mind. looks like they are bouncing in that panel.

I also really like those panels up-close of Jess's face before and after the branch snaps. <3

I...can't really say that I expected anything else. Zach really is quite the magnet for misfortune isn't he.

Also, panel three and nine are really nicely done.

Mud? That is good, at least it wasn't water. Nearly all water related deaths happen in water, and 100% of people who drink water will die.

Nothing to show him as a pet, and considering how many could lie about being pets, I don't think the trapper would listen to Zach.

But hey, now Zach and Jessica can bond. :D Maybe they will find more in common with each other than they thought.
