Fido takes out the ultimate cat weapon......a giant squirt bottle full of water.
--spraysprayspray in the face-- BAD KITTY! GO AWAY! STEP AWAY FROM THE BLACK CAT! --spraysprayspray in the face--

The sequence of Sabrina getting knocked into the pool trying to get between the two could still happen (and could be the PG alternative to the fight -- Sabs falls in, Jata ignores her, revealing the jerk for what he is in front of everyone, while Fido heroically dives in and saves her) but At this point I kinda hope it doesn't.....it would have been cool had it happenend, and then we all suddenly remembered Tarot/Dragon's prediction, but this way it's kinda like knowing the last scene in the last "Newhart" episode before watching the show.

I love the detail in how Fido is shaking and tosses the glasses like it's all or nothing. Good detail there, Rick. <3

I doubt they will get to fight, but I'm not ruling out the possibility either. (I'm betting on Fido as well. Simply because Fido has something worth fighting for.)

I think what's going to happen is Miles or the wolf pack will defend Fido, simply because a wolf vs. a leopard would be a more even match than a dog vs. a leopard.

On a side note ~ there were already fights in this comic before, people! @_@

Ralph's expression gives me a little hope, that he will help Fido somehow.
Also I wonder if Jata really doesn't get it or if he really doesn't want to realise that Sabrina doesn't want him :?:

True, but Cerbs vs Pete was a bit more evenly matched that a cat stepping on a dog half his size.

Don't understimate Fido's training and genuine will to do the right thing, here. Jata is just being an arrogant Son of a Royalty. Fido has ONE thing in this world that to him matters more than his life.
So. EPIC!

Generally I'm all aboard the Sabrina/Fido ship, but Jata, everyone calling him a jerk, but his words cut deep.

"This 'Concord' deception was to save face. It falls to me, then, to save you from this shame."

It seems to me, that Jata has (and rather rightly so) stated that either Fido or Sabrina are ashamed to be in a relationship with the other (depending on who he was speaking those words to). Look at it from his point of view, first Sabrina's boyfriend was making googly eyes at him the entire time and then it turns out no, that was a fake boyfriend because they didn't want word getting out.

The trial by combat against Concord was a jerkish move. This one... I find myself waving a small Jata flag.

And then he accidentally squirts Sabrina in the face and THAT'S what Tarot's prediction was REALLY about!

If Jata cared for Sabrina, he'd stop and ask her, talk to her. Instead he's acting like the perfect egotist, caring only for the 'specist shame' side of her life rather than wondering how his love could've fallen for a dog and actually telling him Fido's her boyfriend in front of everybody.
I thought Jata was a vain but decent guy in love, instead he's just a royal jerk like his father. Fido is showing TOTAL bravery here. Guess who's the noblest soul here!

I know a few folks are saying that maybe someone will help Fido in this fight, and I guess that makes sense considering his opponent is easily double his height; but, I'm kinda curious if Fido would want some helping him at all. I mean, he's fighting to show he cares for Sabrina, so this might be just his fight.

As a boxer I think Fido can take Jata. Jata's muscles are too big and bulky. Insert joke about Fido being x breed of dog and not a boxer.

this website has confused me sooo much lately.

either its going to be a fair brawl and fido loses, or in his immense rage jata doesn't even have a chance. he may be strong but we don't know if Jata has been taught combat.

even so, I see just one punch immidiatly knocking jata out.
