that's kinda what I'm hoping will happen Sabrina said something like "until you accept or reject your dog-ness your soul remains in limbo" which I think means he will eventually have the option to choose. He seems much happier now as King than we've ever seen him as Joel. By going back to being Joel he'd only have prison to look forward to. I don't think he's found very much satisfaction in his life as Joel.
I'm interested to see if/when the other pets (namely Fox) discover King's true identity how they'll react. That could be a story arc in and of itself.

Saaaaaammmmeeeee. The facial expressions of the characters is pretty much the biggest reason I love this comic so much. Rick does such an amazing job with them all.

Guys I know I said it could be possible since Pete said Sasha was "protected" (I still hope we find out exactly what this means) but this proves she's not, because she is willing to touch the watch which we know Dragon/Tarot can't without getting in trouble. So Kitsune would as well if Sasha was his/her avatar.

Since a watch can be set, it's possible that in the end King will be able to set his fate with it.
Or he could simply give it back, or give it up for good if he fully accepts his dog-ness as Sabrina put it.

Not odd at all, the GM has to play all the NPC's the Player Character's interact with.
he might need an avatar to see what gryphon an dragon are up too in the game.
also he might have been playing the Ferret that is King's "owner" now, when King was given a new owner an place to live.
So he could have several minor avatars in the game.

BTW, I never thought King could climb trees...holding an umbrella no less. But I guess he had some sort of stairs, but he could always pull the same jump fencing power of his.
