Okay now I'm wondering just how many other ex-human animals are running around right now. The "dozens and hundreds" line is hyperbole, sure, but how many other people has Steward transformed with that coin?

Well, for them to draw any kind of conclusion about how this does or doesn't work, first they need to figure out what exactly is happening and what's causing it, and so far Marion and Louis are no closer to that now than they were at the start of things.

Lois is on her way to believing, but I think the big "OMG the squirrel IS Marion" moment will probably be when Marion isn't actively trying to convince her, but rather when Marion does or says something casual and off-hand, without thinking, that she knows only Marion would do or say.

At this point, this is probably the best possible outcome. Assuming Marion can convince Lois of his identity (who wants to bet it will involve telling a really embarrassing secret known only to the two of them), he's probably safer with her than he is anywhere else.
