Re: Arc 30: The Present

Sasha says she's never had a piano before, not that she's never played a piano before. For all we know her 'father' could have had her learn the piano in another failed attempt to impress women. Personally, I think most (if not all) of her scatter-brained behavior is an act. Let's face it--even if h...

Re: current comic

Definitely a possibility, but if that were the case, then there wouldn't have been any point in Pete putting a spell on Joel/King to begin with. If people don't believe his story without him being able to tell them his original name, which he could simply explain away as being because of the spell,...

Re: current comic

And don't you think, that King just CAN'T tell anyone anything about what had happen to him? Just like he can't tell his real name. I wonder, if he can write it, or it will look like a scene from "Liar Liar" film with Jim Carrey? Yeah, this has me thinking a bit. It looks to me like...

Story?

My apologies in advance if this has been addressed elsewhere. I seem to recall Rick mentioning a story he'd been writing involving King. It was supposed to appear around Christmas but was delayed. I'm not sure if the story has been placed here and I missed it, was scrapped, is still in the works, or...

I think that it's a testimonial to Rick's storytelling skills that he can get people speculating on an imaginary series of books introduced in his own comic.

Re: Breeds?

As for the cats, I think Grape might actually be some variant of the Russian Blue, a Korat, or a mix. Max might be a British Bombay. Jasper is almost definitely a Russian Blue, given that his name was originally shared by Tom from Tom and Jerry. A cat-breed site to help: http://www.cats-central.com/...

Re: Housepets! : The Pridelands Discussion Topic

Rick has said before that wild animals have no legal rights; the only ones we've seen so far are zoo animals who were kept under close supervision (just look at how people reacted to Miles). Making a fantasy film with genuine exotic animals in the starring roles would probably be extremely difficul...

Re: Housepets! : The Pridelands Discussion Topic

I'm still confused about the actor Abasi Gatamu. Grape's letter seems to suggest he's not an actual feline - but why would they have humans acting like hyenas and lions and such when the actual lions/hyenas/whatever are fully capable of doing so? Are laws so strict that a director couldn't get a lio...

Re: So many MORE questions...

Okay Rick, when you have time I'd like to know the answers to the following: 1) Can people own exotic pets as they do in reality? 2) Would an 'owned' exotic pet be able to wander like pets do or would they be required to stay indoors or similar (and if the latter, why, since they are at least as int...

Re: life lines..

In a sense, animals in the real world already do create societies - packs, prides, herds, colonies, and so on. 'Course, not all animals do, but I'd assume not all feral animals in Housepets would create societies either. Well, yes, but obviously the non-human animals on Rick's world ought to have g...

Re: life lines..

Actually while people seem to be living longer the actual genetics haven't changed all that much. Humans 600 years ago were capable of living as long as we are, however there was a lot of poor nutrition, disease, war, and other factors that kept humans from living very long. The sum length of life ...

Re: life lines..

In the 1300 an 1400 hundreds, the avg human life expectancy was just 22 years old. now in 2009 the avg. human life expectancy is pushing 80 to 90 years. So in 600 years human life expectancy has quadrupled. We know that the animals naturally became self-aware and intelligent, but we don't know how ...

Re: So many MORE questions...

Silly or not, it's a fair correlation. Compare how long an elephant lives compared to a lion compared to a domestic cat compared to a mouse. As they get smaller and their heads get closer to the ground, their length of life is lesser. Though to be honest it's not really the distance of their head f...
