Re: My Little Pony

It's kind of odd, we've heard about other places in terms of "the most X place in Equestria!" So like, maybe Equestria is just the term for the land these kingdoms are part of? It'd explain why, for instance, the Crystal Empire really doesn't seem much bigger than a single city and some co...

Re: My Little Pony

It was a decent episode. Probably my least-favorite from this season so far, but still fun. Trouble Shoes was great, surprisingly adorable for such a big guy.

Kinda sad thought, though. He would've loved Starlight Glimmer's town.

Augh! I forgot to mention the slippers in my professional review of the episode! D: Oh well. I really loved this episode. I thought the crying worked fine. Yeah, she sounded a little more Rarityish than usual.

And speaking of voices, I don't know about anyone else, but I could really tell Apple Bloom's voice actress has gotten older.

This is the first season where I work as a contributor to a pop culture news/reviews/opinion site, and writing reviews on these episodes has really heightened my appreciation for their quality and the work the staff puts into them. So far this season has been just top-notch.

Re: My Little Pony

This opener was fantastic! Top-notch animation and voicework as usual, a creepy-as-heck villain, and just an overall dark atmosphere for most of it. A lot darker than you expect from children's programming, and definitely of a different kind than Tirek or Queen Chrysalis. I hope we see some of the e...

Not that I recall, sorry. :(

Also, for some reason shipping Luna and Sombra seems hilarious to me. I wonder if they'll continue that trend/running gag in the upcoming King Sombra origin comic.

I don't know about anyone else, but I've actually heard of lots of people wanting Neill Blomkamp to do an Alien movie, myself included. His visual design would be perfect for that universe, plus he's a smart writer.

I like how diverse the characters in Big Hero 6 are and how well they interact together. Lots of potential for a sequel there.

Torn on the pre-movie short though. It was adorable, but as someone with several dogs I cringed at a lot of the foods that pup was eating. :?

Re: My Little Pony

I wanna ask a purely hypothetical question. How would y'all feel if the show changed its format from a half-hour episode to two twelve-minute stories like many other cartoons? An interesting change of pace to revitalize a show starting to grow stale, or a pointless ruining of something still great?

Because the movie doesn't just have a little puppy die. It has that puppy crawl over to her unconscious owner of one day, leaving a trail of blood behind her, AND THEN dying.

I am a dog lover. I did not need those levels of feels.

I'm a little worried about the movie we're getting. The only major movie of note for the writer is Ice Age: Continental Drift, and that's in an uncredited role. Not sure why it's not being done by any of the show's writers.

Re: The Silver Screen

Seen Galaxy of Terror . That movie was icky, gloomy, and made me feel a little sick in the stomach, but I liked it more than Creature . I think what makes it the worst for me is that Creature squanders a fairly decent concept through ineptitude. Klaus Kinski was definitely the best part of it though...

Indeed. I thought it was a nice, solid ep. Only major problem I had with it was Clara's difficulty accepting the new Doctor.

Also, what an ending! Here's a theory: Missy is a regenerated Master!
