Re: 2017/01/20 - Luxury Lifestyle
TBQH, I had to look up what it meant to "go dutch". For those unaware, it means to split 50-50. I thought it meant that everyone pays for his/her own meal, which often doesn't work out to 50-50. The Well of All Knowledge backs you up, though sometimes this can lead to a 50/50 split.

When famous (and famously cranky) SF author Harlan Ellison wanted to disown a project without the other party getting wind of the fact, he invoked a clause he put in his contracts that let him use the pseudonym "Cordwainer Bird," a reference to another SF writer who went by the pen name of...

He could've put two and two together after that weasel guy stole the Night Howlers from his shop, maybe even realized the recent string of disappearances is connected as part of a conspiracy, and wanted to be brought to Mr. Big's mansion because it's a secure location. Anyway, later in the movie we...

Info available on the net suggests to me YBCO superconducting crystals have a diameter of mere centimeters, so synthesizing a 100 kilogram block of the stuff wouldn't just be ambitious, but also revolutionary and, uh, non-trivial.

It's nice the existence of gravity waves has been confirmed, but all the headlines a lá "it took 100 years to prove Einstein right" are just painful. Deflection of light by the sun was observed within a few years after publication of his work.

Some sites prohibit direct linking of image files by substituting these filler images in their stead to cut down on bandwidth-hogging.
You don't notice that if the image is still in your browser cache and therefore displays correctly.
