They have zero in common. She’s a loose cannon with serious anger problems and a sharp tongue (sharper claws) and Fox is laid back and collected. Those two are about as compatible as Bakugo’s parents. As far as where the arc goes, that’s a good question. This arc was about Fox and Mungo. Fox is probably not going to find someone at the spa (maybe but it would be cliche) and Mungo is wrapping up the actual job. So unless we go find out what Fido and/or Ralph are up too this chapter should end by New Years. Uhhhh, Bakugou's parents aren't that Bad. Sure, the Mother Swears a lot, but they aren't arguing or starting fights for no reason, unlike some families, like say, mine. After all, Katsuki's Mother is friends with Inko Midoriya, you know, One of the sweetest characters in BNHA. She wouldn't be friends with her if she was Bad news. And at This point, Fox's options without Natalie are, 1.) Daisy, who we know is intelligent and has been faking being Dumb, with the problem already given in a previous discussion, 2.) The Twin Angels, and we don't know if they are willing to commit, which will make things worse for Fox if they don't, and 3.) That Wild Single Vixen, whom Fox hasn't even met, and how do we know she hasn't found another mate, or even, if she wants another male mate? A lot of the other "Options" are either Bad news, are already taken, or have not had a Big enough role to be of actual help to Fox. I don't think anyone's mentioned Griswold yet and he's been shown to fall into the polygamous category. The kangaroos and wolfs shouldn't count because the focus of this debate is on dogs and different species have different optimal mating strategies based on stuff like whether they have precocial or altricial young and whether the species is K-selected or r-selected. Wolfs in particular are known in the real world for mating for life. Ooo! This is a good one! So nice to get a plot nod to Sasha's situation. Seems like Kevin was the one to finally get Sasha to agree that "daddy" doesn't deserve her. Good on ya! I'm not so sure about that. To me this more looks like an example of men doing what they think is best for a woman without taking her opinion into consideration. King took the same stance as Kevin (albeit through different means) and Sasha remained adamantly in favor of her dad. I don't see how this strip confirms Sasha has turned against Daddy; at most she puts up with that aspect of dating Kevin. Notice it's Kevin detailing his own plans while Sasha remains silent. Did Fox really think "make-out exclusivity" was all Sasha would want or he should expect? That's mildly creepy, to say the least. Nor do I see any reason he could not have been doing for her what Kevin's purportedly doing. Or is Fox that immature? Fox knows that dating someone just to make-out exclusively with someone is "mildly creepy, to say the least". Before Kevin confronted him on it, Fox hadn't seriously considered what his long term plan with Sasha would be. Upon thinking deeply about it, he realized Kevin was right and backed down. I don't think Fox is incapable of doing all those "boyfriend things", it's just Kevin got there first (he already has the kinks worked out and has a head start with the investigation) and the fact Fox hadn't thought about doing things like that for her made him believe he's not good boyfriend material for hepolyamory ...

Plus, where was all this criticism for Jessica and Zac? Jessica literally didn’t exist before the arc where she and Zac got together (no hate to that relationship or Jessica, I just think that was Rick’s weakest way to get a relationship to form in Housepets) Jess and Zach didn't get together when they first met. Zach rescued her and she scolded him. She left and at the end got a scarf out of the deal. It wasn't until later during "Rabbit's Foot" that they're relationship or friendship developed and that was because they were locked in a cage together but even that wasn't anything romantic. Their relationship actually took time to develop from friends to Zach moving in with her. Out of all the couples in Housepets theirs was actually taken the time and not rushed. Peanut and Tarot were just thrown together out of nowhere. Tarot is introduced and BAM, couple. Max and Grape was slow but they hooked up after Grape realized that she wanted to date more cats and be seen as less tomboy-ish but even that first date wasn't great. They took time to really get the romanic ball rolling at least on Grapes side of it. I don't really see any signs of Mungo being interested in Fox. I mean Mungo clearly doesn't recognize personal space or understand boundaries. I mean he was all up on Keene at the dock. That is just part of his charm. Out of all the dog characters, I feel that Mungo is the most dog-like of them all. He's so passive and friendly with everyone. He's never met a stranger so to speak. Not to mention the happy go-lucky attitude. He made friends with Sabrina after fixing her whatevepolygamy ...

When you say "they pairing does seem somewhat sudden" are you referring to the fans pairing them or Rick Griffin pairing them. If it's the former, it doesn't take much to get the fans shipping. When it comes to predictions we tend to do our bets to cover every scenario. If you're talking about what's been established cannon, I don't think there's enough developed so far to call it rushed. It's not like they've been on a single date yet, the only things "romantic" they've done is footsie and a massage. All relationships have to start somewhere. IF they become an established couple, it still might take the course of years from now to develop. Still hoping for Fox to get a female love interest rather than this seemingly out of place development of Fox being bi. We've had no indication from the comic on Fox's sexual orientation, so why would it be "out of place" for the comic to reveal him as being bi? Well, there was that one time Fox received a massage in a jacuzzi from a female huskypolygamy ...

... relationships are a thing, and they can and do exist in well communicated and emotionally/mentally healthy manners, wherever people can relax back from feeling compelled to follow the more common arbitrary social/religious norms. It's not about cheating or being unfaithful and it's not about having an open relationship (Unless that is a thing that everyone who is apart of the relationship understands and is comfortable with, of course)... it's just a form of relationship, not overly different from any other 'normal' two-party relationship, save that it tends to take a bit more attention to awareness and communication to keep healthy... So it's something I'd love to see represented properly some time (I'm biased, I admit, since I'm part of a poly relationship myself), and this comic has a pretty good environment for something like that coming up naturally. To be honest though, if something like that were to be a possible outcome here, then what we'd really need to see would be more relationship-oriented communication between Max and Peanut, and Max and Tarot... but in different social groupings their inter-personal dynamics (the differences between how each person behaves in different two-person, three-person and four-person situations) all end up working quite well. I know it's almost certainly not a potential outcome to any of this, but I still hold a little candle for it regardlespoly ...

The earlier thing with Sasha and Fox hinted towards pet relationship dynamics not being one to one to human social norms (they really have no reason to be) so I think it's a definite possibility. It'd also be a good way of appeasing both the grapenut and grapemax(?) parties, though i do think Rick should do exactly what he wants with the story without trying too hard to appease the fandopoly ...

We shouldn't assume that all pets have the same mindset on relationships based on one or two pets especially if again that pet's idea is skewed to the point of over exaggeration for the sake of Fox's scheme. I think for the most part pets have a general monogamous ideal for relationships given what we've seen from them. There are a few who differ (Sasha) but that's lifpolyamorous ...
