Re: Help Me 3D?

looking good but the fur looks patchy in some places Mostly, thats just a bit of discoloration due to an unfortunate mixup of colors. I was able to fix the discoloration for the most part with the mighty gimp, and I ended up lengthening the fur slightly to smooth it out a bit. Thank you for the con...

I made shape keys that allow him to open his mouth (no teeth. Sorry. I didn't think I was going to make the mouth open until later, when the window of opportunity for such details was quite the opposite), smile, frown, blink, and look around. More renders will have to wait, though. This last one too...

Re: Help Me 3D?

Almost done with the fur. I need to add some longer fur around the head, some around the joints, and roughen the color transition to the hands and feet, but I wanted to make a small update. You may notice a bit of discoloration in the gray fur. Small mistake that shall be soon rectified, I assure yo...

PHEW! Time flies when everything is happening at once. Sorry for taking so long with this update, but I wanted to actually have some progress to show. It is getting pretty close. My spirit animal appears to be the Owl. "The owl spirit animal is emblematic of a deep connection with wisdom and intuitive knowledge. If you have the owl as totem or power animal, you’re likely to have the ability to see what’s usually hidden to most." This is absurd of course. My eyesigh...

Re: Help Me 3D?

People who are making it up as they go will sometimes come up with great ideas, other times they come up with inefficient roundabouts methods because they don't know the alternative exists... given this one requires building the model twice, i would guess it's the later in this case. You might be r...

Re: Help Me 3D?

For one thing, i always use a blinn-shaded preview and soft edges, not a constant shaded one or hard edges, unless something is supposed to be rigid or pointy. It's easier to spot errors in the shape when it looks smooth regardless of polycount. I am admittedly uncertain of how this can be done in ...

Sorry for the delay. College has gotten a bit hectic. This is the basic mesh. I added another toe to the feet, but it was after applying the subsurf to the mesh on a different version, which I am currently attempting to make a new topology for. The strategy I am attempting to follow is getting down ...

Re: Help Me 3D?

okay... that polycount might be an issue. I've always found it a better idea to build low poly first, and then dial it up later after all the basic shapes and proportions are right. otherwise if you need to adjust things you have a ton more to keep track of. especially the hands and feet, it's real...

Nice models, snappyfox. What program do you use? I've been looking to get a 3D model of Douglas for a simple 3D printed figurine or D&D style game piece. Do you think you could make a 3D Doug? Here's a good reference , and the other stuff in my gallery would help get an idea of the back. Also, K...

Thanks for the quick replies! Those are pretty good options. I can probably start this weekend. I think yours, Buster, will be great for animation especially. Help Me 3D?

I am just a beginner with 3D modeling, texturing, and animation. Using Blender is great, but it can be difficult to learn the details without having a specific project or goal. To that end, I am looking for some characters to turn three dimensional for practice. Does anyone have any characters that ...

Ah, but some random guy is the best source of opinion in this random guy's opinion. Or is that a self defeating victory? What if there are some absolutes in the human psych. It's not a requirement to be involved with the "dark side" of a fandom to actually be a member of it. The members of the dark side disagree. I asked. In my opinion, you are correct, but what if the true nature of a fandom is inherently dark, but it has been perverted (in the most backward...

So many mixed feelings. I am pretty old (trapped (cursed to be?) in a young person's body), and easily embarrassed. My hope is that the nudist community bit wont be stressed too greatly. Otherwise, the animation looks great, and I think they are doing a great job with the anthropomorphic proportions...

That is excellent life advice, when you over think about it.

But really, shattering glass notwithstanding, a breath of fresh air is something we could all use. Good job venting that frustration.

Specifically, out a window.

Mine is a furry of indiscernible species (probably predominantly feline) relaxing on a cloud, thinking deeply about something.
