The novelization of the TNG finale connects [Trelane and Q]. Trelane is DeLancie-Q's illegitimate child, IIRC. Not quite. That was from Peter David's original novel Q-Squared which came out around the same time TNG finale and the film Generations did. Like most of the novels not actually adaptation...
