In my opinion, the whole empty white room thing doesn't emit very much feeling when it's downplayed by comic relief. I think that's kind of the point, personally. Big melodramatic exchange spoiled comedically in the next panel. That's what happened when Maxwell did it, anyway. Besides, in all hones...

For as great as Jata has been throughout this whole thing so far, I think this strip is probably him at his most amazing. I don't know, that background thing amuses me so much.
