Somethings Wrong
I have read every Housepets! comic and it's great but something is amiss. from prier experence I have seen anything happy with a dog end with death and i'm at the point where the little voice is telling me to turn it off, the same voice telling me not to finish Old Yeller. I am simplely asking if anyone else is getting the same uneasy fealing that something horrible is about to happen. Rick, if you are reading this, at least spare Peanut
Re: Somethings Wrong
I don't think any of the major characters could get knocked off, because that'd leave a gaping hole in the Babylon Gardens community and I don't think death is quite Rick's style... plus it'd make a lot of his readers upset I'm sure. All in all, no need to worry in my opinion.

Re: Somethings Wrong
I strongly doubt anyone is going to die. This is a pretty darn lighthearted comic, and the old kill-the-dog cliche loses a lot of its inevitability when half the cast consists of dogs (who can talk) and the comic has no clear end in sight.
And Peanut is pretty much the safest. He and Grape are the main characters. They have plot armor!

I certainly wasn't expecting that.
The most that's going to happen is Tarot is Spirit Dragon forever (doubt it) or King/Joel would become human again (also doubt it).

Death? Probably never. But drama? Yes, very possible and will probably involve Peanut.
Bad ending? Well... Probably not... At least I hope not.

Pffffffffffffffff
This here is a cartoon comic, not old yeller. Nobody's gonna die. Rick doesn't need such a cliche plot device to keep things interesting!

Re: Somethings Wrong
Do I for see more drama coming yes that is coming but anyone dieing no that isn't going to happen it would be way to much for this comic.
Re: Somethings Wrong
Don't worry so much.
Re: Somethings Wrong
Drama, yes.
Death, no.
Considering the deep characterization of this comic, a good-orchestrated drama can be terrible enough. I mean, look at the reactions in the comment box back when Peanut missed his chance with Grape at Uncle Reuben's farm. Or with, more recently, with the 'Imaginate, too' arc. And somehow, in the end good and clean fun is ALWAYS ensured.
Death? No way, sir. Though, seeing them grow up, like in Kevin and Kell, would add to that bit of realism.

No, not really. Rick has shown time and again that he can deal with serious matters in a good way. Besides, the worst that can happen is that they all die and go to heaven the real Narnia to be with Jesus Aslan.

The only thing that MIGHT be close to "death" is Bino getting hurt :p

Ah yes an Spongebob episode reference. Lol. To the OP don't worry about too much. Rick will probably not off any characters. However, drama, hilarious situations, etc, will still go on. One question to the OP, where did you get this idea that an character in HP is going to be offed?ctcmjh wrote:Everyone dies. The End.

Re: Somethings Wrong
I predict that future drama includes King, Fox and a dirty little secret... But serious death? Not gonna happen.

considering that now we know it's the Spirit Dragon who suggested those words, they could mean close to anything but the literal truth. Also, since we now know Tarot is the avatar for the SD, we also know of the 'Implicit Benevolence Rule' https://www.housepetscomic.com/2010/07/ ... details-2/ thus excluding any harm...perish the thought!

Two years from now the Furry Gods will end their game of U&U what starts the dissolution of all matter in the universe.
This will provoke the Klingons, leading to their attack on the trio and subsequent destruction. Then they proceed with wiping out the remaining cast because they're look like tribbles with their fuzzyness.

Awesome, Indagare!
I think the prophecy might kick in at any moment. There's a sort of unwritten rule that if a prophecy is made, it must come to pass, or be disproven, at some point in the future.
There is, of course, pets' natural lifespan. We might start seeing them grow old and gray at any moment, and it would be justified. The ferrets or Spo would most likely be the first, simply because they don't live as long.

I predict the final strip Rick draws (when he gives up HP) will be Grape and Peanut cuddling and saying I love you to each other. Then comes the juicy kiss and then The End.

Rick is running on comic book/webcomic time so the characters aren't going to age much if at all.Frank wrote:Awesome, Indagare!

As for the prophecy that will obviously come into play at some point in the future I'm just not sure when.

Re: Somethings Wrong
We heard about Tarot's prophecy, and also read the alt-text. I would not be surprised if Peanut died, but it would either have to happen at THE VERY END or he'd just come back to life in a very mysterious way that only Rick could explain.

O_O such negative emotion in original post. I am 100% no one like Peanut is gonna die. I mean, can you imagine the fan base he'll lose??
