I mean, last few pages (or at least the previous one) hinted that he is kinda special and not just a gag character.

Hi, first time posting. But this comic finally broke my lurking status.
1. Karishad is into some kinky **** (no one is surprised)
2. Karishad is related to Katsune (no one is surprised/well they might be surprised but in a "wait, we really should have seen that coming" sort of way.)

As others on the forum have been repeatedly stating, there was always something funky with Kari. Can't say I'm too shocked.

Yeah, that was cute.

I remember ages ago everyone always assumed he was Kitsune's avatar, as he was clearly associated with him (and the cosmic game, as Tarot clearly knew he was involved somehow) and did various magical things and was somehow always involved but never harmed by any of the ridiculous things he did.

Not sure if anyone guessed he was another player but it's pretty logical.

Also, he is a naughty creature it seems.

I was honestly too astounded at the casual implication of Kari's 'interest' (which Rick has stated in the past he wouldn't be doing after that brief scene with Karl Lenin-Faust way back when) to even notice the plot twist, but.... yeah, a lot of old gags make sense now.

Kitsune said he was “born” when some Japanese dude created an elaborate mythology for him, so my new headcanon is that Kitsune got lonely one day and willed himself a brother into existence.

Haha, I never thought we'd get anything concrete about Karishad.
Suddenly, moments like this between him and Great Kitsune take on new meaning.

Karishad always seemed like he was more into paws than uh… what GK just mentioned. Regardless, he and Cerberus sound like they’d be adorable together. <3
Now I’m just anxious about one thing: are Kix and Kit going to stay together? Kix did mention that they needed to discuss their future together, and they never really got back to that.

Now this exchange in Flip That Den makes more sense:

Rock: Do you plan this out from the beginning, or does reality just warp to serve you?
Kari: I get that....
Rock: A lot, yeah I figured.

I'm sure alot of people guessed he was celestial in a way, but didn't expect him to be Hitsune's brother. And two tails

I am sure that Cerberus being a man eater is probably a plus for Kari. Though if that means she is LITERALLY one remains to be seen...

My question is: Did Rick always intend for Karishad to be Kitsu's bro, or did he just have an idea that he wanted the two to have a connection in some way and only recently decided it should be this?
Neither is good or bad, just different ways of writing and I am curious about his writing methodology.

I’m honestly not sure, I think Kari was a character before Kitsune, but maybe Rick wanted the character development/plot twist all along.

I also really like how Karishad just kissed Tarot’s paw in the beginning. Seems like a Kari way of saying bye to someone, I really hope all is well in the mortal world as everyone is sent off.

Rick has a delicious way of planting seeds in his comics that suddenly blossom into new plot twist years later - remember the warning about Sabrina drowning?

Wow, that's a great reveal for Karishad... Little brother? I already thought of a possible relation with Great Kitsune, though... That's why now he wants to stay there with demigods. You'll need to buy a lot of food for her lunch. Lovely hand kiss to Tarot, Peanut should do it more. Anyway, good so, Karishad, do new experiences.

The fact that, like Draig and Craig, Karishad was left behind on Earth when everyone else was transported to heaven was a huge indicator as well. Not to mention his ability to kill a fictional character, and the fact that Kitsune waved to him (and only him) in Australia.

To be fair, seems it’s seems hard to stomach Pete sometimes.

I'm fine with this development, but I'd kind of rather have him remain an incomprehensible anomaly that is not bound by anything or beholden to anyone.

Who says that he will stop being that? We know where he comes from so a lot doesn't have to change.

So lets see here. Karishad first appeared in 2008 and it took 15 years for him to get his second tail if we go by first seeing him in 2008. Does this mean he will get all 9 of his tails in 2128?

So if Kari have 2 tails, from what we seen. He is quit younger then Kit, A little over a 100 years, a young kitsune. According to legend he get his white, golden colour when he is 1000 years old, gets his ninth tail and then ascends to heavens.
Makes him a very fascinating character IMO.

i think you read that wrong. Kari is at most 199 years old, as a new tail=100 years old or 100 years old period if he JUST got his tail. he gets a new tail every 100 years thus Kari was born in early 1900's or in the 1800's.
