First: It's two posts per day.

Second: How many times do I need to explain this?

It's supposed to be slow moving. That is part of this neighborhood. Also, let's do some math.

We can have up to 25 players. If every player manages their two posts, that's 50 posts, right? That's a page and a fourth, a large enough amount in itself. Now, say we have someone who can't post for, say, three days. That's 150 posts to read through. That's 3 and 3/4 pages.

Now, say the post limit was 3-a-day. That's 75 possible posts, a little under two pages a day. Is that a lot? Yes, that IS a lot. Now, again, let's see over three days...225 posts. About 5 and a half pages or so.

Shall we see what 4 posts a day does?

4x25=200. 40, 80, 120, 160, 200 oh would you look at that 5 pages. 15 pages by the end of three days, which is more than enough to make anyone quit if they fell behind, because that's a couple hours worth of reading.

I specifically recommended the two post limit to Anthroguy to keep things manageable for everyone.

I have to agree with Buck, seeing how fast a 2 or 3 conversation can fill out the thread 2 posts is very reasonable.

Plus, I thought that if you wanted to do really fast conversationy posts like that, you could do it in the IRC and then make one post about it. O_O Or maybe not in this neighborhood?

As far as I know, you can.

As far as Anthroguy goes, he has a tendency of always dropping in and out. We might want to vote in a backup GM (or, heck, I'll just pick someone) in the happenstance he never manages to post. We'll see.

Floors 3-20 are the floors you can move into, and which on you pick is up to you-- most pets seem to live on the first 3-9, but this is more coincidence than anything else; and a good few live on the upper ones as well. As for the characters themselves, the vast majority of them seem to be on the second floor, either around the pool or in the restaurant.

Not that it makes things any less fun, just makes you think more when you make the post :)

The speed always has its ups and downs. What's wrong with a bit of drama? It's fun, too. Just role with it! (Yes, I wrote "role" instead of "roll". This pun was made by Buckdida long ago).

The Pool

Since we're discussing the pool, I decided to put down how it's laid out:Image

I'll just assume your characters estimated the feet measures. The dashed lines are the areas blocked off as the deep end. There are two diving bords at each deep end. Let me know if you have any problems with it.

...Did you just make Cap talk?

Question: Did you ask Kalvin if you could do that?

Otherwise, you're breaking a major rule of the RP: No controlling other's characters. Making them talk without consent is especially bad...

The Pool

by Anthroguy101
It's not your ordinary slab of cement. The walls are lined with hard, white plastic (for easier cleaning), and the upper rim is lit with LEDs behind a clear, laminated polycarbonate cover (the pet pool being green and human pool being blue, with the deep end areas flashing red in both pools). On the bottom is a backlit color e-ink display (also behind laminated polycarbonate) that normally displays "Oasis Towers" with the weather forecast at the bottom, while also flashing headlines, but can also be changed to satisfy group events and for games as well.

There's also additional equipment to deal with the pets' fur in the pet pool, which is later dried and burned to prevent disease.

So, in a sense, this is a techno-pool.

Erh... Tobee didn't even post yet, and you talked to his character. If you check the "Announcements of leave and return" thread, you'll discover that he's in a bad position to post ATM. RPing takes some patience, sorry.

Name: Dominic
Species: Ferret
Age: 8

-Appearance-
If you saw Dominic for the first time, you might think that he was over-fed. Dominic is actually quite healthy, but his fur is rather thick in general, so others tend to think he's fat. He likes to wear odd clothing as much as possible, but he's generally wearing a ninja headband as a collar, as his owner is a Naruto fanatic. His fur pattern is a bunch of dots on his belly, and a light stripe across his nose. His fur colours are tan and brown, and his collar is of the hidden sound village.

-Personality-
Dominic is a quieter kid than his owner would like, but it doesn't cause too many problems at home. While his owner is a Naruto freak, Dominic actually doesn't like the show, saying that, "If real ninjas wore bright orange jumpsuits and screamed out what they were about to do, wouldn't they fail?" While he is quiet, Dominic is rather affectionate and almost never anything but happy.

Other Notes:
-has never in his life seen a cartoon other than Naruto
-Dominic is hard to ground, he can get out of almost any room.
-loves to swim, but has todry off for hours afterwards
-works in his owner's shop, whatever that may be at the given time, as a mascot-slash-sales associate

my character is a jerk, and it's going to be hard to get other pets to talk to him that way. or I could turn him into a entirely different character.

Dilemma.

My character is a jerk, and he seems to be getting in fine.

You have to find the right balance, or, depending on how you want your character to develop, none at all. (Ex: jerk, gets shunned by all, tries to redeem himself, etc or is a Jerk, but is tolerable)

What I ended up doing was adding a foil character to literally counter Jaxeh's jerkness whenever it showed up. It's working pretty well so far...

Chester isn't the kind of person to try and redeem himself though.

:|

Although the tolerable part might work.
