He quieted down when Bekkail started talking again. He followed the group to the dorms, mentally noting down the layout of the areas they had passed through. "Doesn't seem like it'll fit everyone," he casually remarks to Kero.

The accommodations seemed good, but he couldn't help but realize that the tower only seemed to have a third of what it would need to support a group the size of what was gathered in the old throne room.
"Um..." David muttered, very slightly raising a hand. "Are... um... is there going to be enough space for everyone?" he asked Bekkail, assuming she could hear his voice.

Of course following Bekkail to the dorms she too, noticed the lack of room. However, her mind was elsewhere. "Wonder what Dusk is doing? He's been gone awhile..." A clear look of worry was on the Fenrai's face but she tried well to hide that, as she tried to find a spot.
She looked towards Bekkail, asking. "First come first serve, or are beds assigned?"
"Yes, well, we've needed to expand it a little, since the change in admision, but you might have noticed how few of your classmates have partners? we have something planned to help with that, but it's up to you if you manage it." she turns facing the students instead of the room,
"i believe the term our less magically inclined scholars use is 'an entrance exam'? Earn a partner, show your potential together. those who have innate abilities, or already have a partner have a bit of an edge there. those who do the best get the first pick." as she mentions innate abilities she gives a subtle glance to david and hope.

He seemed less concerned by the size of the dorms, but being as small as he was, that shouldn't really surprise Thomas. "Of course, that's not why we partnered I suppose. There any materials in the dorm made of cotton? We could possibly make some stuff you can use for your potion from that, though it won't be the best as it's not a pure form of plant life." He was looking around the room for something useful.
efficient non-magical means of processing cotton hasn't been invented yet, it has to be done manually, so it's use is more sparse than people of our age would be used to. the fabrics present being largely varieties of wools from different minor species, and a few pieces of what look like the silks the fenrae make...

Roarin wrote:"Well, I wish all of you guys good luck." Fen'rus smiled and nodded at the rest of the mages at the table. "Hopefully you guys manage to find one that's less umm... troublesome than mine." He chuckled, taking another bite of fruit into his maw. The wolf let the conversation move on to some other topic as he enjoyed his meal, looking around at all the fellow students around him. After he had gone through half of his plate he turned back to the professor. "So, what kind of etherial do you have sir? I didn't really get a good look at it the last time I saw you two in the square."
some take that at face value, some grumble, at least one looks defeated already, but most seem to appreciate the sentiment to some degree.
when you turn to the teacher though, he just grins.
"Ask him yourself, or did you not notice the stormcloud settling on your shoulder?" he answers, gesturing at the smiling ball of lightning you'd only now be feeling the, admittedly extremely light, weight of.
Roarin wrote:"I mean, kind of? Well actually I don't really know... Sometimes when Fen eats food I kinda clump up all around him to see if I can feel what its like. If its really good he'll try to describe it the taste to me, but I guess that's kinda hard to do if you've never tasted anything before. Sometimes I feel like I can almost understand what he means, like its on the tip of my tongue." She shrugs, "It's not really something I have to do so I shouldn't worry about it, but there are some people that just make the thought of tasting some good food seem like an awesome experience."
Vi floated up and above some of the patrons, watching with her cloudy paws on her cheeks. "Maybe that's one of the things we can learn how to do at the academy."
GrimD@rk8290 wrote:"If we can get back to the Academy." Dusk corrected before looking around, noticing many of the patrons there didn't look armed, or dangerous. Especially to an ethereal.
"I think we should keep moving...gotta find the exit. I gotta get back to Hope..." He noted as he began to look around a bit more.
There's an open door to the street to your left, in plain view of the desk the owner is sitting at. or there's a window open on the other side of the tables.
(the answer's yes by the way, they can if they're fully solid. they don't need to though, they passively draw all the energy they need.)
