Gale’s no fool. What is it about the wolves fighting large cats all the time? Cougars, leopard princes, I mean seriously. They must be a blast at Pridelands premieres.

Meanwhile this plot keeps making all these new turns. I don’t know what to assume will happen anymore. I will speculate but if anymore characters pop up then I’m done for this chapter.

All I want is for King to freak out about something or do something you know... King-ish. Scream, yell, remind us that life’s hard and everything sucks but it’s the small moments that make it worth while.

Hang on, if mine eyes don’t deceive me then it looks like Miles brought a bunch of wolves. Gale is pretty confident if she plans on taking on a pack that size single handily. I want her to go up against Bailey.

That’s the most obvious plot that he could think of. Rick’s better than that. He should do something completely unexpected or have them team up to stop a third party foe. Or have them compete in a series of challenges for domination. Or the cubs break out the medieval weapons and this turn into a clash of epic proportions. Or maybe just Pueblo and the cubs go exploring the caves and discover a hidden tomb of some forgotten demigod or maybe even Kuyutha

I still want Jason to pop up Friday.

I din't know if I should be grateful or disappointed that Gale's gender was confirmed so soon after Rick stoked the debate by using the gender neutral spelling. How come Miles and his pack aren't in the tags? There's like two dozen pixels of him AND he's being talked about.

So her eye is damaged (her son has better vision) and she's met Uncle Deadeye. Which probably tells HOW her vision got damaged.

Pueblo is a weird name. It translates to town in Spanish.

The definition is an American Indian settlement of the southwestern US, especially one consisting of multistoried adobe houses built by the Pueblo people or a member of any of various American Indian peoples, including the Hopi, occupying pueblo settlements chiefly in New Mexico and Arizona. Their prehistoric period is known as the Anasazi culture.

Other than that I can’t find any real significance for it.

Actually, Anasazi is considered a slur to the Pueblo people.

'Pravda' means 'official truth.' 'Pueblo' means 'village, considered as a population.'

From Larry Niven's Draco Tavern: the story is "Grammar Lesson", and it's a fun little dive into the importance of language.

Pueblo is just an American West kind of name, like Poncho.

The puma with the battle scar wants to fight, and again. Maybe it's right one of the wolves who did her that scar... Was the blind reddish one she talks about? Anyway, Gale looks so cool with it. Who of both has problems with their eyes? The kitten has been able to see that there are wolves so far, so... Pueblo (and Gale) united will never be defeated (by the wolves)?

I think the emphasis on “sexual” is why it hasn’t been brought up.

We haven't seen Uncle Deadeye in over three years. I wonder if he's still alive.

Rick has been known to bring back long absent characters, although usually for short strips or cameos. And, as we just saw with ol'Rufus, even death is no bar to a call-back in BG.

Rufus was different. That was a tenth anniversary thing. There were a lot of throwbacks.

If Rufus's return was a tenth anniversary thing, then I guess I missed the announcement, but my point remains.

Since we're doing speculations, I'm also wondering how old Gale was when the wolves made their departure. I get the feeling she may have been younger than Miles and Lucretia. She certainly has memories (and apparently not fond ones) of Uncle Deadeye as well. Did the pack "announce" their departure or just hike off one day? Future strips may reveal...
