Title Text: peanut when will you learn that life isn't an RPG dungeon crawl--oh, hmm

Peanut, you should know she needs to buy an escape rope for that to work.

Yeah... I also thought that the escape part is implied when using a smoke bomb.

Why not just use her ninja daggers (if she has one)?

Where has Rufus gone?

It’s obvious Peanut is no Ninja
but, again, neither is our Grape.
She knows how to lay down cover
but not, it seems, how to escape.
As Peanut offers counselling words
and Res vanishes in the smoke,
it may be up to the cowardly Max
now that he sees it’s no joke.
Will it be ninja Max to the rescue?
Will Ninja Grape even let him?
Will he fight for his lady love
or will she fight and forget him?

The one time this would have been a better outcome.

This arc is really good and makes me want to play dungeons and dragons again

Alas, Grape has come across her weakness - the many. :(

I'm sensing Max is up to bat with this one.

EDIT: Do ninjas even use nunchuks anymore?

I am the terror that mews in the night! I am the (cough cough) smoke bomb (cough) that was supposed to be (cough) non-toxic. I am Grape (cough) Grape (cough) ... What is this schtick?

I'm guessing Res is the one to save her since he is obscured in the fog and can shift again without being visible, keeping the secret of whether or not he has a floofier weretiger form from us and grape.

Eheheh... After this, I would confirm what I said about the previous strip. :P Grape got "Peanuted". :D Well, it ended to be a bad suggestion, Peanut, but you're right, Grape had to automatically escape from the smoke... But yeah, where's Rufus? I would expect something helpful from him next time. ;)

Never occurred to me, but Grape could go Avatar mode now.

Ninja Avatar Grape :o

I'm still wondering if Rufus qualifies as the medic since he's an angel and all.

Man, being a ninja is harder than it looks. It's a good thing that cats are the next best thing.

I thought Grape was supposed to be hardcore when it came to fights like this. Dating Max really made her lose her aggro. :P

The problem is she has her broom/staff stat maxed out, but she forgot to put any points in her unarmed stat.

Good point. Only time we've seen Grape use her claws, was to threaten King after he flirted with Tarot while Drunk. Other than that, we've never seen Grape actually use her claws as a weapon on-panel.

And yeah, every other time, she's used a weapon on-panel, so that may mean she's only good with a weapon.

And that bit with Maxy? As much as I ship Grapenut, I don't think he's a weakling in combat. For all we know, he may actually be an expert Unarmed combatant. He's just... Got a Low Confidence due to his luck and never got his actual chance to Shine.

Besides that. I'm saying she's not very skilled at using her claws at all.

I mean, in this comic, in the last panel, Grape Threatens to use a Sharpened Candy cane to stab Max with it:
Image

While it would hurt, I doubt Jill would allow Candy Canes in the Car, and especially not after she said that. The best option would have been to use her only other weapon besides her fists and teeth. Her Claws. A simple matter of threatening to swipe with her claws, rather than wait for a Half-Hour to find a Candy Cane and stab him with.

Also, Grape in that comic, with Bino, was only holding up a hand as she passed by. She wasn't swiping with her claws, regardless of what the Comic title said.

It's like holding a sharpened blade at a soft object, since the sign's made of paper, and one still can cut paper and skin if you've got a sharp enough object, even if the force behind it is mild.

Is there any particular reason you feel the need to defend this point so strongly? It was a quick theory half-jokingly thrown out. Its honor does not need defending, nor does the point really need arguing.

Summon a giant toad or something, Grape! At least blow some fire at 'em!

Well, she's likely to Summon a Tadpole rather than a Toad.

Also, I feel that if this were animated, maybe having Grape thrown next to a passive Dungeon beast with a mechanical hand, tuning a Guitar to play Smoke on the Water would be kinda hilarious...

Okay, I think I've been watching too many Gmod/SFM videos.

Quick note here - while Peanut's attraction to cats is often noted, Grape's not-entirely subconscious and no less persistent attraction to dogs is equally deep rooted as documented here. All the more reason that the dance of hearts between these two and Maxwell and Tarot and Res intrigues and fascinates.
