Housepets! Animated! Central Development Thread
Anyone interested in making an animated show about Housepets? If so, Animators that could match Rick's art style would be needed, as well as a host of voice actors, editors, writers, sound technicians (which I could do, but I wouldn't mind help), someone to set up a website and youtube channel (and whatever other pages [i.e. Twitter, Facebook, etc.]), and other positions. I think it could go well, but what do you guys think?

Re: Housepets! webshow, anyone?
Projects like this have been tried in the past, but never got anywhere.
Hate to say it, but this type of project is just too ambitious.

I don't know. I think it's doable as long as it's structured and there's interest. But maybe that's the Business Administration major in me. lol.

I'm about to get an animation program that can take drawings from Rick and turn them into workable figures for animation. I also have Adobe After Effects. Now we just need voice actors :v

Re: Housepets! webshow, anyone?
when it comes to web animations for anything, one person trying to do all the animations alone is usually where this kind of project bottlenecks. It's a LOT more work than you think it is if you want any quality. that's where you want the most people.
Most important thing I've learned from D&D?
No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

I have a bamboo drawing tablet and Anime Studio Debut 9. You can buy ASD9 with Amazon Prime for $6.98.
If anyone else wants to help, that's what I'll be using. I'd also need background art and maybe help retracing the characters from HP. But first, I'd need to figure out how to work the animation program.
I have a friend that might be good at voicing Peanut, but I'd have to see how his voice works with Peanut.

Re: Housepets! webshow, anyone?
I think it would be wise to have at least two people on every development aspect but directorship. but 5 or 6 animators would be ideal, I think. And, of course, plenty of voice actors, preferably with similar-quality microphones, to make the editing process waaay faster. Believe me, that's a mistake I learned from SSWarriors that I'd rather not repeat.
Re: Housepets! webshow, anyone?
Yeah, we have tried this without the animation more than once. In our third attempt we actually managed to get 3 episodes out, but yeah, it's a bit like herding cats to get everything together
Edit: Hmm... appears Arc II has been lost to the internet's ever changing domains

If nobody else can help, I'll still do it by myself, but upload it to my youtube channel.

Maybe... I'll never know unless I try ^^
I'd still need voice actors, though.

Re: Housepets! webshow, anyone?
fun fact: Obbl and I voiced Grape and Peanut before we were moderators (or at least we were cast, the attempt that actually produced stuff was after I was a mod)
If you get to the point where you need voice actors, I think you may want to look outside the forums for most of the cast. We never had enough users to get the project well off the ground. so I suggest Behind the Voice Actors Casting Call or castingcall.club

Re: Housepets! webshow, anyone?
Okay, so do you guys know Aang from Avatar: The last airbender? That is the voice I give Peanut when I read the comic. I would need an innocent voice for Peanut, so I think someone with a young sounding voice would be just right.
I do also remember someone on youtube playing a really good King voice, so maybe we could find him again ^^

If there aren't enough people for voice acting, you could always have it as an animated comic with captions and sound effects.
Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

I would voice a character if I could, but I'm a bit nervous about posting my voice online.

Re: Housepets! webshow, anyone?
Quick note on the voice casting:
Due to the wide range of emotions in Housepets!, contextual tone is absolutely vital. For example, when a sentence is in all caps, rage or shock or strong emotion are being represented. Thus high volume and convinving emotional tone are required. Basically, don't be monotone. These are very tone-dependent roles.
EDIT: Tone!

Well then that definitely rules me out then. I'm accused of having sort of a monotone voice most of the time. ._.

I'm pretty sure with practice you could totally pull it off, Amazee ^^Amazee Dayzee wrote:Well then that definitely rules me out then. I'm accused of having sort of a monotone voice most of the time. ._.

Re: Housepets! webshow, anyone?
Looking for voices for the main characters that will match their energy and volume. I'll try to post a sample audition later so you all can hear what I mean.
If anyone is interested, go to http://castingcall.club/projects/housep ... show#24074
EDIT: Also, is anyone interested in making a logo?

If you don't mind it being drawn on paper first.
My characters!
I got too many colors to remember. I'll put them here to see. Aren't they nice? Yep! Absolutely!
(There's actually 6 eggs, but I ran out of links)

If I find a working mic I'll try auditioning for someone.

Re: Housepets! webshow, anyone?
I just posted some sample auditions so you guys could get an idea of the tones I was looking for. Excuse the crappy recording quality. My microphone wasn't available at the time, so I used my laptop's built-in (which are horrible). I probably would've been better off using my phone.
Re: Housepets! webshow, anyone?
I'll try auditioning later in the week. I, sadly, also don't have a very good mic.

I'll try to audition for most of these roles. the male ones cause I can't pass as female, or even as female that passes as male.

huh? I was talking about Grape. I was saying I couldn't voice her cause my voice can't even get feminine enough to be a girl who is mistaken for a guy.GreatKitsune wrote:None of those. Sorry.RandomGeekNamedBrent wrote:or even as female that passes as male.

Ooooh. Sorry. Misread.
Re: Housepets! webshow, anyone?
I suppose I'll at least put in an audition for grape again
Re: Housepets! webshow, anyone?
Although i don't think it would work, but if you guys ever want to try it sometime, i'll be happy to do Bino/Tiger. Mainly because i practiced lipsyncing the comic as i read it and i find i'm a good personality for Bino/Tiger. Max i could do, but i would have to practice his failed spanish. And i could, humorously, act like a fangirling Grape. X3

auditioned for every male pet role. I think Peanut was one of my weaker ones and I don't know how I got the role in the previous attempts.
I believe Rex was probably my strongest.

I can picture that SolarisPheonix guy voicing Fox.
I also like RGNB as Bino. If you could sound more obnoxious with the voice, that would be great!
