Who's seen "ALL DOGS GO TO HEAVEN" (and did you cry)?

I read the comic and laughed that all the dogs cry at the movie "All Dogs Go To Heaven," and had no idea why. Turns out one of my friends dad helped write it, so finally I went and watched it. I didn't cry but the end was sweet. I can see why the Housepets dogs would cry at that movie.

Well forum dogs! Have you seen it and did you cry?

It's been so long since I've seen it that I can't remember my reaction. I'll have to watch it again sometime.

Yes I've seen it. Sat like a stone all the way through it. I grew more fur on my chest and became larger than Kevin. It was an experience I'll never forget.

My favorite movie of all time. Although I didn't cry, I was close ;) I wish movies were still like that. Gah, memories

I did when I was a kid, now I don't think I could go back and watch it because of that girl in the movie, Judith Barsi. She also did the voice of Ducky in Land Before Time.

I discovered and watched this movie recently. It's really good, but haven't liked so much various aspects of it. The final scene put on me some sadness and a little tear. ;)

Watched it. Cried. Funny enough I ended up watching Pet Cemetery the next night.

The first one almost made me cry. The sequel, not so much...

Looks like it is true what they say: most sequels suck.

Seems like all the sequels to 'older' movies were kind of...awful.

ALL sequels to animated movies are not as good as the first.(I will excuse Lion King 2)

Shrek 2 and Shrek 3 were just as good as or better than the first in my opinion. 4th was sort of a stretch, though ("Top of the World" by The Carpenters? Really?).

Shrek is love...Shrek is life.
...I'm so sorry...

So true. And let's not forget Kung Fu Panda 2, How to Train Your Dragon 2, Toy Story 2, and Toy Story 3.

Good point about sequels though.

Please no mini-moding guys. Actual mods are here for a reason.

Personally, I've never seen All Dogs Go To Heaven. It's just never appealed to me enough to seek it out and watch it.

Ok. I take back what I said. Most animated sequels aren't as good as the first. Not saying they aren't good, just not as good as the first.
I need to find All Dogs Go To Heaven again and watch it. There are a lot of old animated that I want to watch again.

Its been so long since I've seen that movie. I don't remember crying when watching it, but it was a long time ago too. I did like it as a movie however. Its sequel wasn't as good as the first if I remember correctly, but thats pretty common with most movies with sequels. Especially if thet don't come of as a continuation of the previous story or have strong enough connections to it.

Watched it. Loved it all the way, with a wide range of emotions. Cried shamelessly on the finale.

I didn't know about such a movie until housepets mentioned it. Then I watched it one night when I was bored, with nothing else to watch.
Didn't like it, animations too dated and the voice acting was poorly done. My opinion, that is.
Didn't cry.

Guess I'm apathetic.

I can't really argue with the voice acting part, but of course the animation is dated, the movie was made in the 1980s.

I don't remember my response to that movie when I first saw it two decades ago. Watching it again recently, I did not really feel the urge to cry at the end (though the orchestra playing during the farewell scene was sad). The knowledge that it was Judith Barsi's last performance did bring a tear to my eye...

However, counting the events in the sequel, that scene kind of makes me laugh now. I would justify my seemingly sadistic outlook in more detail, but I do not want to ruin it for those who haven't seen the movie yet.

Oh yes, Judith Barsi. I read about her. If I wasn't depressed before, I'm depressed now.

Who is Judith Barsi? The name doesn't even sound remotely familiar.

She was a 10 year old actress who made multiple appearances in television shows and commercials in the 1980s. She appeared in "Jaws: The Revenge" (as Thea Brody) and voiced Ducky in the "The Land Before Time" series. Her final film was "All Dogs Go to Heaven" as Anne-Marie before her life was tragically cut short.

Have both the VHS and DVD. Rather liked it, but didn't cry. Yes, emotional story, but it usually takes a lot for something to get such a strong emotional response from me. I recall a few years ago, I did suddenly feel sad when I looked up Judith Barsi on IMDB. Apparently the credits song was chosen to be a tribute to her, and her death supposedly almost got the movie cancelled. Loved Land Before Time as well (again, VHS and DVD).

Yeah the whole thing is sad. Its times like these I wish I had a time machine. Though it happened before I was born (1992).

I have watched both and I love them both. I think I did tear up at some parts. I wish I could go back to when it came out, for some reason I love the stuff that came out before I was born. I recently bought the sequel on VHS, and even though sequels are never as good, I love the second movie just as much as the first movie. I haven't seen them in a while though. I need to see if they are on demand or online. I love both of them. Also, last time I watched both on demand, the first movie had the label of the second one, so I was happy that I got to see the first movie. :D

I think that its a rule that sequels always tend to suck and make you hate it so much you go to see the original again just to spite it.

Not always, I really like the sequel to this move and Lion King, as well as some others. It is just most of the time.

I've seen both the original movie and the sequel. I love Charlie! Scoundrels with a soft side make me purrr. I didn't cry, but I was happy that it ended well. Of course it ended well, it's an American movie, duh. :)

But I did cry big tears when I saw the Lion King. It's a cat thing.

I also like scoundrels with hearts of gold, especially if they tend to be muscular looking. xD

Ok, I watched it again for the first time in years; my eyes did get a little moist at the end, but not enough to say that I cried. :|

*Snaps fingers* NOW I remember why I kept naming my stuffed animals and fictional characters Charlie when I was a kid! (This movie and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.)
And it's another explanation for why I like anthro dogs.

I had a cat that I named Petri after the pterodactyl in "The Land Before Time", which also had actress Judith Barsi play Ducky.

I remember those movies as well, used to love them as a child. I didn't see All Dogs Go To Heaven until later in my childhood, so it isn't as fond of a memory, but I remember it much better.
