Well ... this strip is simply ... AMAZING
3rd panel Max is a win, the expressions in second panel are awesome, 5th panel Max is another win and Max´s monologue is -again- amazing. This strip is really really good.

Now I wonder if hes talking about Grape here or Sabrina because while its been a pretty bad date, I don't think it really comes to the level of that kind of outburst.

Well, it seems Max has had enough of how things have been turning out.

Well, definitely I didn't expect Max making a scene. I wonder why is he so upset. Something tells me that he's not talking only about Grape here. Or maybe he's just overreacting.

So... this is the moment when comes a flashback? Or Dragon just excluded him because she didn't want him to be the center of attention?

By the way, his bump has disappeared. Maybe he's already drowning?

A lesson learned and the woes of a mortal being. Thing is Max they do know, they know cause they see mortals go through it and they understand, yes they have the power to do everything but the limits of that power is fairly strict. Just like she can't get Peanut to love her, nor can she change his feeling for him. but in his outburst, his true feelings comes out. It one thing to hit bottom it another to hit bottom with no one to help you back out. I feel for Max cause I know how he felt when you feel completely helpless at one point that you can't get anything done no matter how hard you try. But there another part of this story that hasn't been told and I am excited to see if it will follow that direction or will we see the high school love drama that seem to be playing out at the moment. In the end it would seem the direction on who will give up their happy ending is becoming clear.

Wow, well this is getting close to a guess of mine I made a long time ago...

Way to go Max! You managed to stop the Dragon and earn yourself.... something. Perhaps a bit of emotional growth?

Heck, forget Grape! I think I might be falling for you Max!

Maybe its the way its worded or the way I'm reading it, but it really sounds like it could be taken either way. Hes either talking about Grape and how hes not good enough for her, but its the whole "not just lose but sink to the bottom" line that makes me think its Sabrina, since its a bit heavy for anything that happened with Grape; plus it feels more like a I lost this person kind of line to me. However maybe I'm reading it wrong.

This is one date he'll never forget...

Lost my hands. Got shown up. Got beat up. Got two boots to the face. Got rained on. Got to cuss out a god...

I feel bad for not able to recall who Maxwell puts me in mind of, but scenarios like the one Max is in is so sad since it's essentially what I love about characters like him. The poor guy just can't catch a break and feels so insecure, but he is trying, and that's what I love about him. (And I'm sure Rick does too. <3)

Though on the other hand perhaps the dragon feels bad about what she did to Max cause I'd imagine she can hear everything he say, and she falls in love with him creating to potential for Dragwell? I know its unlikely but hey it can happen ya never know.

At fist it was for Grape or for another individual we never knew, since it's true that Max suddenly getting so mad seemed odd (but then again, he IS cuadrupedal and standing in front of a supernatural entity for the first time in his life, that could make a lot of other folks go bonkers!).

Maybe Brent is right and we are about to see some of Max's key points in his past?

I did, Dragon clearly took his words to heart and calmed down, or she was shocked that someone would speak to her like that and stopped because of that. I'm sure its the first one however.

Dang Max that was really....Deep! How will the weather forecast explain about the sudden changes in the sky?

And then with the power of Dragon, Maxwell's sad broken bell gets restored and he becomes one of the bravest cats around that Grape falls in deeper love with.

He does seem like a really good canidate for the dark paladin class.

To stop the rain he stops the tears
and all hear the one with bitten ears
as he emotes from the pained heart
and we see his hidden nobility start.
He let's us see the pain he hides below
and never, to Grape or Sab, did he show
the depth of his desires, his wailing
and his passion through all his failing
insecurities and fears of being insignificant.

No no Max, you done good this is the good ending. Trust me I checked the guide and everything, as long as you only said words in blue text and didn't choose to attack first while you where in the alleyway you should have gotten the perfect ending of this arc.... you did do all that right?......right?

Was not expecting that. I'm almost afraid to know where this will lead.
