Holy moly it is hot in this computer lab. I'd have worn shorts and flip flops if it hadn't been raining this morning.

I think I used to have a pair of those as a kid. I still look for them occasionally when the weather's weird. :P

Does anyone remember the rip-off version? They had those button clasps down the outside of the legs, and you could just pull them off.

I rarely wear shorts anyway. I'll just wear my jeans and roast. I'm more comfortable that way as counter intuitive as that sounds.

I'm with Seth.

Jeans and a t-shirt. Every day. No matter what. Coat optional.

I used to be exactly like that, but now I think the weather must be getting hotter by the year because the past couple of years, it's been way too hot, even on some days in winter, for me to wear jeans.

I agree, unless I'm going to be outside for the majority of the day. Sometimes I don't mind expelling my body heat.

You know you're a chick when you're excited for hot weather because it gives you an excuse to wear cute dresses. Sorry guys.

Diss,
Thank you for posting that before I did.

I'm so glad you all aren't my real life friends right now. If you were, this conversation would surly take a turn in the (very, very) wrong direction right about now.

You, my friend, are a band kid at his finest.

I have the cutest turquoise dress from Rue21. I can't wait to wear it somewhere nice!

I have to say Beagle, I never thought of you as the kind who likes to wear dresses. If I was a girl, I probably wouldn't wear them.

I'm totally finding a way to be a part of marching band next year at college. They always need help in some way.

I don't always like wearing dresses, because I can't be lady-like and mobile at the same time. But I totally have a guilty pleasure in occasional getting all dressed up to go out somewhere. I'm a pair of jeans kind of gal, so I enjoy watching the jaws of my male peers hit the floor when they realize I'm actually a girl. Also dresses are nice and cool, and low-maintanence ones make for a quick outfit.

I feel the same way about wearing suites. I usually dress pretty bummy but Occasionally I have to wear one and it's always funny to see people's reactions when they see me out of my element.

I always feel so stuffy in a suit, it's makes me feel gross. Plus it makes me look HUGE like a linebacker or something! Trust me when I say that I don't need any help looking big. in fact truth be told I could stand to lose a few pounds.
Any way long story short I don't think I like to wear suits.

I like to dress nice sometimes! But most of the time I just like wearing comfortable clothes. I love winter but I'm kinda excited for it to be warm enough to not have to wear coats and stuff.

I have the same leather jacket that I've worn since the 6th grade. Everyone knows this jacket, and they freak out if I wear anything else. I'm going to be so sad when something happens and I can no longer use it.

I know that Tripp makes pants like that. They are rave pants so they are fairly unisex.

Because Spring dresses aren't for you, you're an Autumn.
In the topic of clothes I usually wear a polo shirt and jeans to school everyday. It is odd though when somehow you ended up wearing the same thing the teacher wore that day.

I am just wheezing like an asthmatic today. ;_; (Well, I /am/ an asthmatic, but still. It only flares up when I'm sick.)
It also doesn't help I discovered my new controller inhaler actually makes my asthma worse. I want to go back to my Asthmanex. ;_; At least my insurance still covers the same acute inhaler.

I don't know too much about asthma, but I think there is something seriously wrong with your medicine if it makes you worse instead of better.

Is it strange that I'm most comfortable doing work that has the biggest risk factor as far as me getting paid or seriously messing something up?

Really, I'd rather paint a deck than work at a pizza place.

If I paint the deck, I have to deal directly with the person who owns the house the deck is connected to, and I run the risk of ticking them off by doing something they may not think I should do. Like replacing a board, or suggesting they caulk around the door leading to the deck. I'm just doing stuff I feel I should do with no ill intentions.

But they owner could see me as some punk who's just trying to make as much money as I can by doing things that don't need to actually need to be done. Yes, I know the chances of dealing with such a person is very, very slim. But they are out there, and could give me a hard time over nothing.

While if I encountered this same kind of person while making pizzas, being an employee of the business, it's ultimately the manager or owner they will have to deal with if they delve into the realm of stupidity.

And as an employee of the business, I know that I will be paid regardless of that person. While if I deal with them while painting a deck, if they don't agree with me for any reason, they could withhold they money they owe me.

Am I just strange, or does anyone else prefer the kind of work I do despite the greater risk involved with it?

well that really depends on what it is you want to do. For most things, it's better to pursue that in your spare time while doing something to make a living. Writers and artists and actors can all practice their craft while working at least a basic job.

as for Jeff, manual labor like painting houses and doing yard work is a basic job, so doing only that is a good option.

Alright then. Let me pose another question:

Is it strange I'd prefer doing hard physical labor type work over doing something easy like making pizza, even if money was not involved in any way?

Alright, I'm just joking now. I do see what you mean Beagle, and that's what I'm doing. I honestly prefer direct interaction with the client and the problem solving that I have to do. I actually am going to be painting a deck in the next few weeks. And I recently had to do some problem solving to figure out how I was going to make crown molding for the entertainment center I'm building that is easily removable.
