That's so sweet how Peanut wants her to be happy. And he is right, the eyelashes make her look a thousand times more feminine than before.

pardon me for being the partyspoiler, but there are so MANY reasons for which this arc was unsatisfactory:

1) too short
2) too many new and interesting characters in too few time (heck, even the humans could have made for interesting stories!)
3) too simplicistic ending. Not that it had to go according to the wondrous fanfic we all read, but it was as if Rick wanted to return to 'status quo' in a hurry.
4) all in all, this 'farm arc' looked like a puzzle of disconnected ideas to do a sort of 'fill in'. The Milton Ferrets arc was better constructed.

And now take aim and fire me at will.

I think he's referring to the farm+n-ple date arcs.

I was talking about the farm arc. I just came back for a day before going back to vacation (one week, this means three strips delay in comments at least). Sorry for the misunderstanding.

Well if that's the case...
valerio wrote: 1) too short
There are shorter arcs than the farm one. IMO it's just long enough. That's not what she said
valerio wrote:2) too many new and interesting characters in too few time (heck, even the humans could have made for interesting stories!)
While I agree that characters like Rufus are interesting, I'm sure that all the characters introduced on the farm are minors and we won't see them again.

You mean, the ending with this comic? I also agree that the "drama" ended too fast, but I'm sure Rick has something in his pocket for us....
valerio wrote:4) all in all, this 'farm arc' looked like a puzzle of disconnected ideas to do a sort of 'fill in'. The Milton Ferrets arc was better constructed.
Disconnected ideas? I don't think so. Without the evenings on the farm, Grape wouldn't want to hang out with cats more, and she wouldn't go on a date with Max, right?

I don't agree: there was far more potential in this arc than others, IMO.
While I agree that characters like Rufus are interesting, I'm sure that all the characters introduced on the farm are minors and we won't see them again.
probably (I hope NOT). But we got to know only one of the barn cats. Not one of the children or their parents. And Rufus could have been any other character. And what about the collie lady? Heck, the farm alone was a wodehouse-style-gags source!

You mean, the ending with this comic? I also agree that the "drama" ended too fast, but I'm sure Rick has something in his pocket for us....
yup. that's why we love him. And of course he can put up the best D'AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW situations!

In fact that was the only fruit of such arc. I simply expected more, that's all.

Rick maybe saving those for another time. you never know. Maybe Rick has something instore for them. (I already have a good idea, but i'm afraid even I must hide these ideas, otherwise i think Rick will hunt me for starting conspiracies!)
yup. that's why we love him. And of course he can put up the best D'AWWWWWWWWWWWWWW situations!
That's indeed true, but another reason for the way the arc ended the way it was was to pass the weekend gap. judging from the time of the arc, it was a weekend trip, and Rick needed another arc to cover the weekend. Bino was in bed for 3 days. I think that's enough time to cover whatever time was left on the farm.
In fact that was the only fruit of such arc. I simply expected more, that's all.
I would agree there should be more to the arc, but being that this is a weekend trip of an arc, and alot of fresh ideas are introduced to Grape and Peanut (important ones, too as we know now) , there might've been more done to the arc than meets the eye.

only time will tell though!

valerio wrote:...this arc was unsatisfactory...
While I can see where you're coming from, I don't exactly concur, so I'd like to offer my own input.

First off, as Rick already said, this isn't the ending, this is the start of a whole new arc. Second, the purpose, I believe, of the last Arc was to A.) Continue developing on Peanuts feelings for Grape, and B.) Create additional story drama by introducing Grape's new desire to hang out with more cats. Third, As far as characters go, Rufus and the Barn cats only served to guide the last arc's plot, making them only minor characters for that specific arc. forth, Peanut hasn't been "Friendzone'd" or anything, I read some people commenting on that, because A.) The phrase, "You're the best friend I've ever had," doesn't mean, "I'm sorry, I don't feel the same way about you, lets just be friends." And B.) She doesn't even know about Peanut's feeling for her, she was just trying to comfort him. Last, Peanut wasn't upset with this "Friend zone" idea because he wasn't even worried about that. He was worried she didn't want to hang out with him anymore AT ALL. So in conclusion, Grape: 1.) Wants to hang out with more cats. 2.) Still maintains the same realtionship with Peanut. and 3). Isn't aware of Peanuts feelings for her. While Peanut: 1.) Still has feelings for Grape, perhaps stronger. 2.) Still has an opportunity to confess to Grape because Grape is unaware. 3.) Is no longer stressed about the supposed idea that Grape didn't want to be his friend or anything. and 4.) Is just a nice guy, and doesn't want to get in the way of Grape's decisions.

Whew, that took longer than I thought it would. Hopefully this helps a little in some way. :D

I have a feeling that Max won't like Grapes makeover at all, and the date will take the wrong direction. That would result in Grape blaming Peanut for it.

Or Max will blow the date somehow...

I'm hoping the date goes well for Max and Grape. or in good taste. *Crosses his fingers*

Also, i find it humorous now that i think about it that Peanut did indeed convince Grape to freshen her up. We get to see a neat little perspective of Peanut's view of a female cat (or Grape <3) being ready for a date. wonder if he secretly had similar ideas to see Grape the way he sees her now if he were dating her? XD

I'm assuming that Peanut gave her a makeover with her eyes cloesd, similar to a Barber asking his customer to keep their eyes closed so the hair don't hit their eyes. She probably felt it, but never noticed what he was doing.
