I wish I could say more than "that sucks" but if you're honestly okay with it I don't want to patronize you. Still, ever need to chat, let me know! :)

I'd say get the ring if you've got the money for it, especially if you don't have to buy the cap and gown. As for senior quotes: "Never anger a Cylon Squirrel".

I don't honestly know what the nature of senior quotes are, I don't remember having one when I graduated.

I think he means a quote that they'll be putting on his graduating class' t-shirts. Ours were always really dumb.

If "senior quote" is the same thing I had as a senior, then it means a quote of your choice that gets put beside your picture in your school's yearbook. And if that's the case, then it's probably best that you choose it for yourself. It should be something that has a powerful meaning to you, or something that you feel very passionate about.

... mine was, "I used to care, but I take a pill for that now."

I don't really remember where I got that from. Hm.

I think he KJ's right about the meaning of senior quote. I didn't get anything like that, just my picture.

My school never did anything with senior quotes.

I got my class ring but I never wear it anymore. It was silver with a blue gem. :3 Too bad everything from the alloys to the gems are cheap.

I wore my class ring for a couple years. then I lost it. then got a replacement and wore that for a year or two. but now either my finger is too fat, or the summer heat made the metal expand too much.

Mine's right here in my room. I never wear it, though. Now that it isn't super-sparkly, it just looks cheap. Which it is.

I'm kind of a jewelery snob.

I'm thinking of getting a class ring this year. I just have to remember to order it. And I get a free cap and gown with it too.

Not sure how much I'll where it though. I'm not one to where that kind of stuff.

Oh, I can't actually afford decent jewelery. I just like gems and care about it and stuff.

I got a class ring during my senior year. I wore it every day for a while, though it was slightly too big for me, so until I wore it for a short time and got a little perspiration underneath it, it would never stay on properly. I lost it about a year after I got it (because I stopped wearing it for a little while), then found it again. Still didn't wear it very often, so I lost it again, and now I'm not entirely sure where it is. Even if I don't wear it, I still want to find it again because it has a lot of sentimental value to me.

I'm not getting a senior class ring; I'd rather have an Xbox than a jewelry box any day, and the company my school uses is ridiculously expensive anyways.

Speaking of senior year, I really have no motivation to do these scholarship applications, but I know I have to. XP I'm using the internet to procrastinate.

These preliminary applications aren't even that long, I just have no gusto to do them because they're full ride scholarships that focus mainly on volunteering, which I have practically none of. So I have like a .00001% chance of getting them. But I know if I don't at least try, then I'll just be cheating myself.

I didn't apply for any scholarships, but I got one from my school for being a Computer Science major.

I then promptly lost it in my second semester. Oh well.

Let's say you spend a hundred hours (a ridiculously large figure, for illustrative purposes) working on a $3000 scholarship, and you win it. That's still $30/hour! It's doubtful you could get a job that pays that well...

Hi guys and gals!

I just recently went out and bought myself a Mac desktop computer, it cost me over a thousand dollers, but its totally worth it for my art.
I'm now going about the process of purchasing Photochop, that way I can start colouring all my linearts. Its high time I strarted getting serious about my art ;)

Wanderer: True. But figuring you have a 10% chance of winning, and spend a more reasonable 10 hours on each essay, that's still pretty much the same wage (even taking probability into account). It's a little bit of a gamble, but not much.

Beagle: Eek! No offense meant. I was more talking about your current earning potential. After-college earnings would need to take into account interest and the like on student loans, in addition to the fact that salary =/= discretionary income.

*giggles* Oh, I see. But yeah, I can't even find a minimum wage job here- it's all cruddy waitressing gigs. I gave up finding a part time job and joined marching band instead.

Pfft, student loans. Let's put it this way. The colleges I'm applying to have promised me an education without student loans because I'm that financially needy. I may still need to take out a little something just to make it by with living expenses and that kind of stuff, but nothing majorly significant. Hopefully y'all know what I'm getting at without relaying my entire life here. ;)

Congrats on the new laptop! Though I think you might have spent too much on it. What are the specs? I recently bought a new comp too, but it is Microsoft, with 1TB of memory, 6GB of Ram, and came with a high definition screen all for around $700, though it is a desktop. Also Photoshop is amazing! I don't use it for art too much, but it is really useful in any type of image editing I need.
