Edit: and now I'm gonna be A4R0NM10...first character can't be a number, so 'A' will do.

As far as I know, laughing emoticons mean clearly that you are joking, not sticking the tongue from your mouth, so if you want someone to understand what do you really mean, you probably should try expressing yourself correctly and clearly, without creating ambiguous meanings (for example, also ambiguous source code won't compile/run, ambiguity is useful when it itself it the core of a joke, but not when you want to express clearly the information, that you are joking), especially when that statement can be also used as a defense, stating, that many features in such client are actually wrong, as some people do believe, and prefer minimalistic things, but unfortunately many of them try to force others to think the same and think that anything else is bad/stupid/useless.

Plus, I don't see how can you possibly be both sarcastic and joking, since sarcasm is actually some sort of verbal attack, intended to hurt other people and their opinions (see Oxford dictionary and Wikipedia, which doesn't seem much like joking to me, in this sense. So either you don't understand one of these two words completely or you tend to change opinion about meaning of your previous statement very quickly in the same post, which makes me think: how am I supposed to detect sarcasm/joke, when you alone don't evidently know whether it's really sarcasm or joke, possibly what sarcasm really is? Also generally, it doesn't make sense, since it's direct reaction to Dylan's post about lack of features, followed by statement that it's "nice and minimal", which basically supports the previous statement "Who needs features?", thus it is only logical to assume that this statement implies, that features are allegedly not needed by almost anyone.

Also that with mods was an example, even normal visitors usually utilize features provided by standalone clients or other, more trustworthy and flexible online services. Furthermore, the fact that you may be joking doesn't strictly imply, that I cannot state reasons, why people could require features.

I am slowly seeing more and more swearing in the IRC. Probably just me though.(by just me i don't mean that i'm the one swearing, lol)

Well, some words that are considered swearing on the forums aren't in the IRC. I won't list them for obvious reasons, but the F word and the S word are considered swearing. Personally, I haven't noticed much of swearing at all, but if this continues, please give me a list of people who swear occasionally and, if possible, the words they use the most.

I think that if it can't be said on the forums. That it shouldn't be allowed on the IRC either. Just my $0.02.

One of the original concerns over the IRC channel was its control by a second party not involved in the administration of the forums. I'm pretty sure the rules are supposed to be a duplicate of those on the forums.

The IRC moderators generally do a sufficient job of keeping things under control, though.

So? The channel is most active from midnight to 8 AM, GMT. There is some activity over the day, but it isn't that active. If no-one answers, then just wait. Stay in the IRC, you don't have to close the program after seeing that it's empty. Just minimize it.

this happened to me once, when while testing my irc bot's automatic reconnecting feature. it was screwed and was constantly reconnecting to the server.(not joining the channel, bug that was fixed) just wait several seconds before reconnecting

The same happened to me when I was using GameSurge. Try using Mibbit, it seems to work better.

Okay, I a bit confused by all of this. So I installed the mIRC and yet no body is there. (Or maybe I was on too early). But other than that, whats the best chat to use instead of installing mIRC?

That's weird. Did you do as I instructed in the OP? These are the commands you must type one you open mIRC:
/server irc.gamesurge.net
/join #Housepets

There's always a lot of people on.
