I like it too. Its so mischievous and very rascal-like but he is only doing it to prevent an amorous Duchess from doing something they both will regret.

It's kind of worse than that. Since shecwasnt really amorous, she was trying to start a fake relationship so the next pageant would go better for her. I think if she had a real crush on him, him hitting her with the shovel would have felt iffy.

Kind of hard to argue that she wasn't amorous when she went after him since the previous comic JUST showed her laying on a bed with a dominatrix whip that she apparently wanted to use on him. :?

It still would be PG-13 as long as that is as how far it went (which it was).

That would actually be PG, not PG-13. You might be mixing up the criteria for PG with that of G.

You don't get it because it was a flippant attempt at humor, chum, and not particularly focused or funny. I'm sorry for bringing you down.

Because TinyPic ended up shutting down and it ended up deleting all the pictures that people posted to the site including the one I had of my favorite panel, I will repost it here. I also took the next panel over so you could get context.

Hm.

Back on track, I especially like panels that show characters from a distance. Those little eyes they have during those moments make them look adorable. And Marion has been getting a substantial amount of distance shots due to being so small in the first place.

That's part of the delight of Housepets. Rick is constantly doing his panel shots from different perspectives, ranges, facial and body languages. The variety dramatically enhances the sense of photographic reality in what is, of course, a fantasy. It also underscores what a talented, creative, and original artist he is.

It's been pointed out that the first two pages of part 5 of Teenage Squirrel are great examples of this. He's got characters bouncing between angry, confused, bewildered, scared, etc. There are only 7 panels between those pages and every emotion is on clear display, has proper motivation, and is consistent.

The one with Miles and Rockstar is another favorite. I'm just like "Oooh, Rockstar you better watch it. Miles is about to whoop your tail." It is so beautiful just the depth of that one scene of the once feral wolf playing a Switch walking in the woods.

Pretty sure he was trying to get it into their heads that living among humans were better for them, but many didn't think so.

The whole page really is gorgeous. It's a lot of detail, and it's funny to see the split of work with King and Bailey. While he's got a small bag that has a ping pong ball and cotton swab, Bailey has all the other gear and is smiling about it.

Granted, she's a lot bigger and used to hard work, but it's still a little funny.

In all honesty, I don't really know what Miles expected when they went camping. The cubs didn't quite learn survival skills, either.

I thought the idea was precisely to show them that. They hadn't been in the wild since there were cubs and may have learned a bit about hunting and survival but not enough. I always thought his goal was that they'd be tired and hungry by the time they returned home with a greater appreciation of what they had. It worked out, just not the way they expected.
