This whole scene would just be wonderful animated. Please, Rick, get a cartoon offer.

I agree with Sleet 100%. If this scene were animated, it'd be AMAZING.

Liars and con artists don't expose their hand when they're working. If she looks like she wants King's poppies, then it's probably because she has to fill that role in order to get what she wants (and perhaps she becomes the mask she puts on, in part, so she probably went a little loopy somewhere in there)

I will third the motion that you seek to become an animated series.

That said, it's truly frightening to see how easily Duchess can shift gears for the sake of a simple trophy or award or title or...whatever it is she was after...though, to some extent this all seems like it's something that has happened before. I mean...she already had the 'love whip', and somehow I get the feeling the cuffs aren't new either...add to that the way she spoke when chasing after King, Boris' face when she brought up the 'love whip' and...yeah definitely getting the 'she's done this sort of thing before' vibe from all of this.

Just my take on it though...*Shrugs* Things are bound to just get crazier from here, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it all resolves in the end. Though, there is certainly a rather particular outcome I'd like to see, the likelihood and feasibility of that outcome are both extremely slim to absolutely none and I know it. As to what that outcome is...not gonna say.

As much as I would love see Housepts being animated, it wouldn't be a good idea, especially with a big company behind the nimation. I remember that the webcomic Least i could do got an offer from an animated studio to turn the webcomic into a cartoon, but hey wanted to change a bunch of stuff i9n the comic, change characters, remove others, remove plot points and even characters' personalities.

<sigh> He can't catch a break. -_- Dare I say my sadness or distress at him being that kind of character is starting to give way to cynicism? I hope not. :?

This isn't going to involve any more soul watch shenanigans, is it Rick? I hope not, either.

Uh, Sasha to the rescue, perhaps?

hey i was just now thinking that, well i was thinking maybe he could hide behind Bino or something, i'm suggesting that he would prefer Bino over Duchess.

Hello all!!!

Post #1 here. Long time lurker so I finally took the plunge to come in and say hello.

I am liking the latest. Poor King. He has a very determined Duchess on his tail and no one seems to notice or care. Still, there are worse things out there that could happen to him other than being made slave to the 'love whip'.

Wouldn't it be ironic if Fox was listening to Iron Maiden

~ RUN ~ TO ~ THE HILLS!!!!! ~
~ RUN ~ FOR ~ YOUR ~ LI-I-IVES!!!!! ~

I kind of expected Duchess to give up by now, but should've guessed it'd keep going, i'm not sure i've ever seen Rick end an arc on a friday.

I somehow get the feeling King's going to end up climbing through Grape's window. Because it's always open.

oh em jee guys this isn't the first comic without text Rick is a filthy rotten liar let's storm his house

It might be the first four panel comic with no text, though, which I assume is what he meant.

I like that Fox wears his headphones the way they would most naturally fit on a dog head rather than just upright. It's a nice touch.

I actually prefer that type of headphones because the regular ones make a huge, awkward indent in my hair. :c

I hate to point out the obvious and be the elephant in the room, but the last 2 strips take a lot of credibility out of the "PG" rating.

relax. It's been discussed. It doesn't break the rating, nor does it push the rating as much as it could. It just makes you uncomfortable because of prior knowledge that the people whom PG is meant for shouldn't have.

I personally don't see this as a PG comic anymore. This goes way too far in my opinion.

well that's a judgement call considering the it's not officially rated, it's only rated by Rick. It's his decision if things go too far. Or even if he decides to raise the comic a rating, that's up to him.
I'm fine with it, Rick is fine with it, others are fine with it, if you aren't fine with it, we're all fine with that.

I still see this a PG comic, especially considering that PG -13 now has semi nudity in many films now. PG just has themes that may require adult supervision and I think things like "handcuffs" and "Love whip" qualify for that. Considering that everything is "implied" and nothing is shown, I think the rating is safe.

Yes; consider the "Twitterpated" sequence in Bambi: the female animals are using all of their feminine wiles to attract the males, which will lead inevitably to baby bunnies and skunks and fawns. Consider an exchange of dialogue with a levitating magician in the G-rated Kit Kittredge movie: "I have never levitated a mobile librarian before." "Have you ever levitated a dance instructor?" "Yes, but that's a long story." Neither movie shows or tells anything naughty, but little kids might still ask their parents "Where are they going?" or "What does that mean?" :P

PS: Somebody should make a GIF animation out of elements from the latest comic :D

The whip and handcuff's says an awful lot about Duchess's personality doesn't it? Probably shouldn't use names though, as that's in violation of the PG rating.

I think that it's really interesting that Rick is implementing some adult humor into the comic. It seems many cartoonists and animators do the same, as it helps attract an adult audience.

Honestly, I think he's done a pretty good job without having to use the whip and cuffs. They are, however, still a nice touch :D

I don't like the idea of tossing in inappropriate humor just to attract older readers. I don't think Rick tried to do that, he just thought it'd be funny and wasn't past his rating, so he did it.

I don't think that its appropriate to do so if the artist is only doing it for the money. That's obviously not applicable to Rick, but some sellouts *cough* Disney have done this for many years.

Disney doesn't really put too much inappropriate humor in their work. Usually it's just suggestive at worst.
