Historic hit which doesn't need presentations.

Eheh, at first I was doing the same misunderstanding, but then I clicked on the link... :P The only her song I know since 1999 is "Smile".

The Metropolitan Chorus (MC)- Sanctus

This song is a very odd one for me indeed.

I found it almost completely by accident, while looking for some Latin chorus music to help me focus with my homework. I was immediately hooked by it, as I like disco and the way the chorus interacts with it is just awesome.

As you can see, it hasn't been viewed by many, and sadly there's almost no information available about this song, and that's sad because I want to know more about this chorus and see if they have anything else like this.

The only main pointer I've obtained was when I looked the song up and found a store page selling the album. Apparently, it was a 7-inch signed under Polydor Records (a VERY prominent record label in it's time, 1977). However, when I looked up Polydor on Wikipedia to see if they'd have a page for this chorus (and maybe even better, a discography), they weren't there. In fact, they weren't even listed as an artist that had been signed at any point in Polydor's lifetime.

I'm starting to get a little desperate for information- this can't be the only thing they've ever released. If anyone could point me in a direction that would help me find more about this chorus, like a forum dedicated to obscure music or something, I would love to hear it.

So, if y'all had to show a song to a person that has never heard music before, what song would you show them?

Whatever song is number one in the US at the moment. And that song is currently Taylor Swift's Shake It Off.

That's a tough choice...
I think I'd go with a classic like "L.A. Woman" by the Doors, or "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" by the Jimi Hendrix Experience.

And if they don't like those, then they probably hate music :P

Dude, I love Jimi Hendrix.
I think I would show them All We Are by Matth Nathanson. Like, I'd want to show show music can make you feel some emotions.

The only Matthew Nathanson songs I have heard of are Come On Get Higher and Faster.

It would either be some that would blow their minds like

Rhapsody of Fire - Queen of the Dark Horizon

or because I like to mess with people

Mortician - Blood Craving

First off, Radio, you deserve a hug for suggesting those 2 songs. Mortician kind of reminds me of Cannibal Corpse.

Personally, I'd scare them with either this or this.

I might also like to show this person "The End" by the Doors,
The Stooges "Search and Destroy",
and "Storm" by Godspeed You! Black Emperor (or, if I can, the whole album. It's awesome)

If someone never heard of music before, probably likes under a rock. :P This question is correct to do concerning music genres, presenting to someone a particular music genre never heard and usually little followed.

I recently found the band FUN. and I'm loving their music espesially Carry On and Be Calm. They're really cool songs and have gotten me out of emotional situations ever since my friend showed them to me when I was feeling down. :D

I also found a song by a band named Area 11 (If you know the Yogscast on YouTube, you may know them) called Are You Listening?

Hope you like them! :D

The only reason I know about him is because King Crimson would cover this song.

I prefer the original, personally.

Starting to dig deeper into the Donovan catalogue because of it.

There's a radio station that plays Christmas music here in Kansas but it sucks big time. It plays 2 or 3 known songs, then a bunch of terrible covers. It's pretty disappointing.
