Hey, even the cool kids can find a book series they like. It doesn't have to ruin her character.

Did he see the entire episode? The whole point is that you don't have to be an egghead to like books.Penwrite wrote:Hm. There's a person on Facebook who thinks the show's ruining Rainbow Dash's character in season 2. He's gone as far as saying that seeing her reading in the latest episode made him cry. Seriously, whoever that is needs to grow the heck up. >.> If someone over the age range of 6-12 (the shows target audience) still hasn't learned that you can be an athlete/jock/"cool person" and still read books (even after watching an episode DEDICATED to teaching that lesson), there's a problem.

True, which IMO makes it even better when it does happen, because then its really a nice surprise.Sleet wrote:To be fair this show doesn't have much of it.IceKitsune wrote:Clearly this person has never heard of the term Character Development.Penwrite wrote:Hm. Re: My Little Pony
I have to agree with Sleet on this one. If this show HAD character development, some episodes (mostly of 2nd season) wouldn't exist.Sleet wrote:To be fair this show doesn't have much of it.IceKitsune wrote:Clearly this person has never heard of the term Character Development.Penwrite wrote:Hm. edit: see the characters contradicting themselves or repeating the same mistakes is extremely irritating (this has happened before in the show and I doubt it will stop happening)

at least those last two have already been linked, but no discussion was had about the last one.
Re: My Little Pony
Something occurred to me. Looking back on how Rainbow Dash thought reading was lame, then secretly got into it, before finally confessing to all of her friends, seems REALLY familiar...oh what could this possibly be like...

Well, at least I'm the first to mention it around here...in other news, I just watched The Iron Giant for the first time in years, and it was as great as ever, maybe even better. I'm surprised I haven't seen a crossover of it and My Little...that's been done already too, hasn't it?

Google says yes.
Re: My Little Pony
Actually, I've seen that picture, and it is awesome. I had actually been thinking more about a fan fiction crossover, silly me.

I don't know why Rainbow Dash isn't in Friendship is Magic style. It just makes Kingbow Dash even weirder.

That is because it is from G3, and I found it from Google leading me to an earlier part of this topic.

Re: My Little Pony
her name and color scheme are from a G3 pony, while her personality was from Firefly. apparently, G3 RD was the Rarity, because she always dresses in style.Sleet wrote:I thought Rainbow Dash was G4 only though?Zukio wrote:That is because it is from G3, and I found it from Google leading me to an earlier part of this topic.
Re: My Little Pony
This is all true. In G3 Rainbow Dash was basically Rarity without the sense of generosity, sisterly love, or totally awesome, in-your-face attitude that's allowed Rarity to do stuff like kick a manticore in the face and berate GIANT!Spike for tearing her cape.
In other words, LAME.

Re: My Little Pony
I've listened to a ton of fan-made pony songs over the last several months after discovering the show, but this is probably the best (and most professional sounding) one I've come across yet: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jDMGv3hN ... plpp_video
It's a DDR-style mix about Discord. The vocals are quite impressive and it's a ton of fun to sing!

Re: My Little Pony
I prefer the same person's song about Luna. Particularly Alex S.'s remix.

Re: My Little Pony
Oooh. I really like the original of that. :3
The Alex S. version I have mixed feelings about. I feel like the verses were done very well, but I rarely enjoy dubstep. :/ It always walks a very fine line between sounding kinda cool and being incredibly irritating. And it all sounds very much the same to me; even when I know there is some variance, it still just sounds like I've heard it before in every other dubstep ever.
The piano was gorgeous, but the dubstep felt incredibly out of place with the rest of it.

Re: My Little Pony
I second that opinion on dubstep. I suppose that someone deeply skilled or experienced in the genre could find plenty difference between songs, but eh.KJOokami wrote:Oooh. I really like the original of that. :3

Hey friends, question. Do y'all prefer how any of the mane characters can send letters to Celestia now, or how only Twilight could do it in season 1?

well, now we don't have to always focus on Twilight learning the lessons.
but there's also this point that has been brought up.

Um...yeah...that's uh, quite the point there...I can't see it.
I guess I just kind of miss Twilight. She's my favorite character.

Re: My Little Pony
the point is that it was fine before when Twilight was writing all the letters, but now that the rest of the mane 6 are involved, Fluttershy seems to be the only one who hasn't written one of her own. The comic questions whether she just hasn't been writing them, or that she has yet to learn a lesson in Friendship. though the upcoming episode with Iron Will should fix that.
