I quite enjoyed the new episode. The opening sequence with Dash getting her injury was pretty well-done, I thought. The flattery was a little uncharacteristic (of Rarity, anyway), but it was still amusing as hell. x3

Also: fracas. Hahaha.

I liked the pony who was barking mad.

and RD squeaked.

and it's not completely odd that RD looks like DD. athletic female pony build, hairstyle that doesn't interfere with the athletics. It could easily just be a massive coincidence.

I just didn't like that RD was reading out loud. Who does that?

Question, is it true that they might get rid of derpy hooves?

answer: no one is really sure. apparently iTunes took down the episode, but the Hub's website still has it on the front page. welovefine renamed all of their Derpy stuff, but changed it back.

I read out loud sometimes when I'm by myself. Not whole books or anything, but select passages if I'm in the mood to do silly voices for certain character dialogue or funny narrative or something like that. :p Besides, we only heard her reading for the first few seconds of each story sequence, and that's pretty common for things like this. It just flows better than having someone pick up a book and just flip right into a visualization of the book.

1) it was established that she had a roommate, so she wasn't alone.
2) it usually starts out hearing the readers thoughts as they read, not them reading out loud. if they had made it that we were hearing the words in her head, it would have been fine.

The "roommate" didn't interact with her (even when she tried) a single time in the entire episode though, so I'm sure she eventually forgot the other pony was even there.

Regardless, is that detail really that big of a deal? :/

What i mean is: If there's no continuity, what's to prevent characters making the same mistakes over and over and over again
There's various levels of continuity you know, just like everything else. FiM runs on a rather 'soft' level, compared to Game of Thrones which is on a much harder level of continuity. Twilight has -always- had a thing from the very first ep about letting down her teacher, it's a recurrent character trait that will never go away and can be explored at various times, from various angles to various effects.

And Apple Bloom has always had a 'thing' about not being embarrassed around her school mates, more so Diamond Tiara.

Haven't been here for a while.
So anyway, I just read "my little dashie" after seeing it everywhere. It was alright, but not as amazing and heart wrenching as it should have been with all the hype around it.

New ep had some pretty groan-inducing moments, but overall, funny.

I promised my brother I wouldn't watch the newest episode until I visited home next week to watch it with him. >.< We're talking about late Thursday here.

When the time comes, would y'all be gracious enough to talk about it again at that time, when I inevitably bring up my thoughts on it?

If you want, but don't go through too much trouble on my account. I just wanted to make sure I wouldn't be a bother once I finally got to see the ep and got around to talking about it.

I noticed that! It seemed really uncharacteristic of Twilight. Shame on her!

I liked this episode. Particularly when Rainbow Dash tries to rob a hospital.

though it's a Library, and the elements book was under E, maybe it's third alphabetically

Depends on how many books are in the series (which I don't think they clarify in the episode). If there's only a few of them, as is the case for the movies they're referencing, then that'd make a lot of sense. But if there are actually more than just a few books, it's unlikely that a 'Q' (Quest for the Sapphire Stone) would only be third on the shelf.

Then again, they could have also wrapped down from the shelf above. So yeah, I guess alphabetical order seems to be the most logical guess beyond, "I guess they weren't really thinking about it."

or it's the same as how people always turn to the middle of a book to start reading it from the beginning.
I noticed the RD only turned a few pages in to start here. good for her.
Apparently the last Daring Do book was not to RD's liking.

Haha I love that.

I honestly think this is a lost battle. Hasbro freaked out because FEW people accused the show of having prejudice. So Hasbro, as any other company that acts on the impulse, is freaking out at the fear of a lawsuit and would rather have a huge fan negative response than be sued by people who just want easy money and their 15 minutes of fame.

People are indeed going overboard with it, but considering that Derpy is now cemented into the our hearts, it's both a positive thing and a negative.
Making her eye normal or calling her by a different name will not make her go "away".

I doubt Derpy is going away, but I wouldn't count on any more speaking roles for a long long time. People will just have to be happy with her as a background pony. And yes, people go -way- overboard with Derpy support to the point of sheer fanwank.

^ Very much this.

As far as I know, there hasn't been any news from officials saying that Derpy's character will be changed or removed, so for now, all of the "don't take Derpy away!" nonsense is completely unfounded and entirely unnecessary. The shirt removal from certain websites is (from what I've heard) a legitimate copyright claim from another company of shirt-makers. It has nothing to do with the "outcry" over the canonization of 'Derpy'. And the removal of the episode from iTunes is most likely completely coincidental. The episode is still planned to be released on the DVD, so I really don't think there's anything to worry about there either.

Everypony just need to calm down. There's no need for this fracas.
