This is exactly the reason that I never started a facebook page in the first place. There is too much drama in real life, so why would you want it electronically.

I just got back from seeing "The Hobbit". I liked it. But I hate that I have to wait 2 years to see the next installments.

I hated "Brave Little Toaster".

No, I would say that I find it absurd to feel sympathy for appliances. Animals yes, appliances no.

I worked at a campus dollar theater and they "rewarded" us for a job well done with a private showing of it. We just riffed on it. Mostly wishing we could replace the junkyard song with a Slayer song.

I wished they could have let us pick the movie, but it was what was shown that night and they didn't want to put forth that much effort.

While i understand your reasoning, wouldn't you feel sorry though if your car broke down or your computer broke? the idea of having used certain things for such a long time can make you feel sometimes attached to certain things for the reason it helped you so much in life, and you gotta admit it's something to be admired if we could return the favor for them by giving them the fullest benefits of their functions in life as they were created to do.

No, not really. I usually use that as an excuse to scream "you piece of crap" and to roll them down a hill or set them on fire. I try not to be that attached to objects, just people and animals.

They become target practice after that.

I do love my gun though!

As long as you don't hurt anyone with it. =P

Liking guns in my opinion though became much like how we grew up watching action heroes. Nothing wrong with liking guns, but it's moreso how we treat them not as weapons all the time, but rather how we are intending to use them, which is why i respect cops the most.

No, as per stated, I've already dealt with the situation(s). Here, I am speaking to my friends about how life has been lately. Most of the people who I've been speaking to here on the Chat Thread have known that what has been happening extends much further than what someone with only surface knowledge has seen here. I was speaking to them about how I reached my breaking point, deciding to let children be children and move on to better things.

This is true, I've been on here pretty much all year and I don't really remember Beagle complaining to us about her problems until they were resolved.
I have virtually no online footprint with my real name, for the sake of future employment and potential stalkers. Not that I would have anything incriminating on my Facebook profile if I had one, but I never saw it as something I HAD to have. Besides, I actually am introverted by nature so the thought of a social website where you put up photos of yourself was never something I cared for.

Also, Brave Little Toaster was one of the weirdest, most horrifying, best movies of my childhood. I still have no idea why I watched that movie so much.

That movie was just scary as heck. XP I really like it, though, even today.

Speaking of children's movies and scary, looking back I realize how weird a kid I was considering my choice in movies. Of course, that cinematic taste still follows me today.

When I was a little, my dad had a friend that owned a video store. He would let us rent any movie we wanted for free. So we grabbed everything and anything off the shelves. This combined with my dad's irresponsibility as a parent led to some very odd choices.

On one side of the spectrum:
Robin Hood
The Goonies
Legend
Never-ending Story

But at the other polar extreme you had:

The Beyond
Zombie
Day of the Dead
Burial Ground
The Gates of Hell

Seeing all these movies by the time I was five is my excuse when people ask "what the **** is wrong with you?"

At the same time though, if you deeply loved the movies f or w hat they were, then you wouldn't be looked at as a strange person. I certainly wasn't, though people have questioned me as being as crazy as Jason Voorhees back at high school, but that was when horror movies were popular X3

True, as far as the main stream is concerned. At least "The Walking Dead" is better than all the Hollywood J-Horror remakes.

Too many bandwagon jumpers and rip-off artist try to reduce to production risk at the cost of quality. Just look at the plethora of zombie movies that came out in the wake of "Dawn of the Dead". The original, not that bad, bad remake.

I wouldn't say it was bad. If the dawn of the dead tag hadn't have been thrown on it it's stand up pretty well as a fun fast-zombies and shootin guns at stuff movie. And it had Ving rhames going all Ving Rhames all over the place. Which was awesome.

It ended up being less of a re-make of "Dawn" and more of a rip-off of "28 Days Later", which itself was a rip-off of "Rabid". It seems absurd to argue, but even if dead things could get up and run around, they probably would not be the shape to run. Aside from that, they removed at the social and political commentary of Romero's original, and the characters are two dimensional and throw away. They even conveniently added some more throw away characters for cannon fodder.

Ving Rhames is no Ken Foree.

I watch movies to relieve stress, have fun, and generally feel good.
Horror movies do the opposite on all accounts. Can't say I'm a fan.

But I understand that many people enjoy the thrill and mystery of a good horror flick.

I love horror! It is my favorite genre of anything, be it movies, books and comics.

What about "Shaun of the Dead" or "Re-Animator" or "Return of the Living Dead"?

They did a masterful job of mixing horror and comedy.

Is it that they scare you or that they sicken you with gore?

I'm not a huge horror movie fanatic, but I do enjoy watching a good horror movie every now and then. But I'm a total chicken and can't watch one alone.
