Yaknow, that's true. All the most developed male characters (mainly Spike and Discord) are not ponies.

Big Macintosh has his fair share of fans but he's not very well-developed.

I love the "time is candy" line.

and Iagree that they need more well developed guys. maybe go deeper into Soarin's personality.

Oh my gosh Pipsqueak is adorable. ADORABLE! Please please please let him become a semi-regular character, along the same lines as the CMC.

And on another note...I just bought a Twilight Sparkle figure, and I have some questions. Why does it come with a little kitty. Why does it come with a big helmet. And why does it come WITH A FREAKING SCOOTER?

Other than that, it's pretty nice.

Exactly my thoughts!

I liked this one a lot (Pinkie is great as always), but I can't help but think the "come back next year" thing was basically an excuse to not use Luna almost ever. Which is kinda sad.

I also thought seeing her struggle to fit in made Celestia look like even more of a jerk.

Derpy gon' Derp. Even her costume is Derpy!

I wonder if it's a South Park reference that the token British kid is named Pip.

It's a English Lit ref most likely. Ask the furret which one. Of course going by ED, a lot of fans are taking it as a fanfic shoutout and running away with it, even though it's likely not.

Well South Park was in itself an English literature reference. So it's either a reference to Great Expectations or a reference to a reference to Great Expectation. I dunno, I just see a cartoon reference as more likely with this show.

Honestly, I didn't like the ending at all. I remember back in Griffon the Brush-Off that Pinkie worried that her jokes might hurt someone else. Here she became a hipocrit for the SECOND time (the first was when she laughed AT Twilight in Lesson Zero).
Besides they got the whole "like to be scared" wrong. And I say it because I do like to be scared. But I don't go giggling after watching a horror movie.
I hope next episode will be better.

She laughed at her in Lesson Zero because she thought she was making a joke.

Here, I think she just didn't realize how out-of-the-loop Luna was, so she thought she was trying to be scary.

Dinky Hooves is a background filly who people like to call Derpy's daughter.

Considering Derpy's personality, she probably isn't even actually related to her "mother."

and all the costumes were great

i felt the ending needed a bit more impact. aside from that, the episode was most amusing! ^^
it's funny how everyone thought luna would be all timid and stuff, and the writers were like "nope.avi"!

I've been sensing a lot of negativity towards Pipsqueak wherever I've gone, and this makes me sad. I really like Pip, and I hope he stays around as a semi-regular character like the CMC are.

Could someone on here maybe explain why Pip wouldn't be liked? I don't get it.

we were basing that assumption on how she acted at the end of the second episode. but apparently she got more of her magic back after that.

they had a rarity scene, but i think it was cut because it would have been too long and have little point
