War Horse strikes me as Oscar bait, personally.

Okay guys, I'm back from Chronicle, and I must say, I really like it. The perspective is all through the eyes of home cameras, but I think that it helps the movie, and there is no shaky camera really. Its also pretty impressive since the movie was made on a $15,000,000 budget, and the final battle was cool.

I wanna see Red Tails, War Horse, and Man on a Ledge.

As for future releases, I really want to see The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises. I'm a sucker for superhero movies. I can't wait for the Deadpool movie to come out next year

I would really like to see a deadpool movie. Especially since he's kind of crazy it would be funny but full of action.

It's Ryan Reynolds again. Just like in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

but hopefully, he's more like he is in the comics than he was in that movie.

I had to read extrememly loud and incredibly close, it was one of the worst things I've ever read. It was just so self indulgent and cheesy. You couldn't pay me to watch that carp.

Why Ryan Reynolds? I know he was Deadpool in Origins, but they screwed up his origins (and the entire movie) to the point where I was hoping they would pretend it never happened. Still, I love Deadpool, so I'm going to see it. On a related note, did you know that there is a comic called Deadpool: The Musical? Its so funny, with songs like "Hit me Spidey one more time" the diffrence between it and Spiderman the Musical? Deadpool the Musical is entertaining.

as I said, hopefully they fix his origins in the new movie and do ignore Origins. Personally, I think Ryan Reynolds could pull off the real Deadpool, judging from his appearance on Scrubs, at least.

Honestly, based off of his appearance in Green Lantern, my hopes are not that high. Still, I like Deadpool's origins and the fact that he is sort of a tragic character.

The Super Bowl in America is bigger than the World Cup in America but smaller than the World Cup elsewhere. It's a pretty big deal.

Unless you're me. I don't like gridiron football.

Guys it's perfectly fine to talk about the Superbowl, but don't just make the Chat Thread a play-by-play commentary.

I don't even understand the rules of oblong-throwy-helmet-ball. To me, it's the most difficult sport to follow. Games like soccer and basketball have pretty obvious premises, and baseball doesn't take long to get a basic grasp of at least, but if you paused an American football game in the middle of a play I couldn't tell you what either team is trying to accomplish at the moment.

Also I find it tortuous to watch because there's a disproportionate of the time spent watching the managers and referees rather than the players.

But yeah I didn't even see any of the Puppy Bowl today.

Couldn't agree more.

I much rather watch basketball or hockey.

Baseball is enjoyable if you follow it enough to know what's a good play or whatnot. I like basketball as long as it isn't NBA. The players are too good and it just turns into a slam dunk contest with an occasional pass or three-pointer. When it comes to football, if a team is close to the end zone, they're doing well (when it comes to scoring, anyway). That's the best way to look at it from an absolutely knowledgeless standpoint.

My favorite part of oblong-throwy-helmet-ball is when they set themselves up in a situation where both teams run directly at each other and form a big mass and then the play just ends
It's the funniest thing that's supposed to happen in sports
It might be funnier because I don't really understand the logic behind it

I don't mind watching baseball because I have the most understanding of its rules out of all sports, so I can usually follow along without consulting anyone. I can follow basketball and round-kicky-ball too, but I don't have as good of a sense of perspective on those (like whether a team is far behind or how unusual a play is).

well watching that was a little bit like getting puched in the stomach during a root canal.

I watch a ton of football, hockey, and baseball, basketball is kind of a slowed down less physical version of hockey so I dont much care for it.

They're meant to be annoying yet many seem to embrace them.

The companies that make commercials go ALL OUT on Superbowl Sunday since so many people tune in to watch the game. They're almost a show in and of themselves. The more memorable, the better. Any other point in the year, people generally don't want to see them.
