Re: What Are You Doing Today?
Got lots of schoolwork done. Calc is really tough, and economics and film study readings is just tedious.
In my off time I played Apocalypse Rising 2 with a chill dude I met there. Loads of fun, we're a great two-man zombie survival squad.

Watched Notre Dame versus Navy in college football, the game wasn't as competitive as I would've liked, but after the game there is a nice tradition where the teams show respect for each other by having both alma maters played, with each team being respectful while their opponent's alma mater played.

Not sure about the Boston area (since it takes 48 minutes to get to it from my hometown) but when I was outside earlier it began to flurry a tiny bit. I did just check the weather and it said no snow for us.

It feels cold enough for snow in NJ but none forecasted.

That sounds rough... sounds like when I tried intro chemistry at uni, before I switched to a college diploma.

Off to the Town Hall to pay my taxes. And they want to see Sophie; guess claiming her as a dependent was stretching it.

Hmm... do you have Chicken Chef down there?
They do fried much better than KFC, and they've got more stuff besides.

Pretty sure that it is a Canadian thing only since when I looked it up, it gave me "Chicken Chef Canada" but I can't be too sure. Never heard of it before now.
Then again, I never heard of the restaurant that I DID decide we were going to until a few years ago. "Gregg's Restaurant and Tavern", which is a Rhode Island tradition according to the slogan.

I spent the majority of the day at my aunt's house making ornaments to hang on my grandfather's memorial tree in Slater Park.

Re: What Are You Doing Today?
I'm calling crap on my calc homework. After grinding away at it all weekend, there's still several problems that, for the life of me, I cannot solve correctly. I know the material well, and every method of checking verifies that my responses are right, yet Cengage keeps giving a big red X on all my submissions. Either Cengage messed something up, or math is broken.
Whatever, I'll ask the professor tomorrow. But tonight I'll be seeing power series representations of functions and Taylor series in my sleep...

My sympathies. I hate those computerized programs. One of my law classes used one such program for the quizzes, two months in the professor announced that there was a bug in the program, and it had marked questions incorrect that were actually correct.Nathan Kerbonaut wrote:I'm calling crap on my calc homework. … which is why I militantly avoided those programs. We had similar problems at my school, and students were rightly enraged. I won't mention any company names since someone else whose forum name begins and ends with the letter "n" already did that. (Ka-Hint, Ka-Hint....)trekkie wrote:My sympathies. I spent the first few hours of the day at my friend's funeral then when I got back I slept for 6 hours because funerals are draining.
Re: What Are You Doing Today?
I hope you got some comfort from the funeral and the sleep. Funerals are so draining, even more so on the eve of a holiday. Best.Amazee Dayzee wrote:I spent the first few hours of the day at my friend's funeral then when I got back I slept for 6 hours because funerals are draining.

Our Thanksgiving get-together with the extended family is in about two hours. I’m looking forward to all the good food and catching up with my cousins.

Re: What Are You Doing Today?
Today I modded a custom avatar into Beat Saber. The result is a lot better than I expected considering I had no idea how to do this before today (but it took a while to figure out). There a still little aesthetic changes I can make, like adding tail and hair animations and fixing the shoulder joints, but that's for another day.
Here a level playthrough I recorded with the avatar in action.
