The humanoid drone spoke up. "The same way I keep all 20,000,000 cubic miles of this ship from folding in on itself when it accelerates. The same way I keep the passengers from suddenly getting thrown around the ship when it suddenly makes a warp jump."Buster wrote:Kobor seems more alarmed than anything at that. "You have an aquatic habitat... on a SPACESHIP. how does inertia not create tides severe enough to tear this to pieces every time you move?!"
The robot dragon surfaced. "Unfortunately that technology is so much more advanced than anything in the known universe, so it's difficult to tell what it could be used for. As such it's classified. Now are you going to follow me into the water or not?"

The vixen dropped to the floor. She was completely immobile and the only thing giving away her thoughts was the look of absolute horror in her eyes. Horror as she experienced the waking nightmare brought about by the slightest amount of venom. Horror as she experienced her worst fear, the fear of being her own prey. Horror as in vivid detail she saw herself as the living meat she so often consumed. Horror, as she relived the last moments every living thing she hunted experienced, and though she tried and tried, she couldn't even scream.
The Lycan wobbled in place slightly. Her fear smelled good. It kind of made him hungry. His hunger stimulated the production of more venom, which he spit out onto the ground. He wandered over to the civilian the vixen had knocked out. Why, he wondered, was the floor moving?
He took a bad step and The Lycan went down, an improvised throwing needle sticking out of his hip. Morgan dove to catch him and helped him to his feet. "Randy! Are you alright!"
"JuUuUussSst fiiiiiiiine...@ OoOoHh..." He giggled, acting loopy from the anesthetic. His size and his metabolism were the only reason he was still even remotely standing up straight.
"Hivemind, we are being engaged by an unknown number of hostiles wielding improvised weapons! Randy is down! How soon can you get that ordinance to us?!"
Hivemind responded on her comms. "One express delivery, coming up! ETA Thirty seconds!"

Golta noticed Jaken run behind his target. "Kid! Get out of there!" he yelled as he tried to suppress the assassin by rapidly firing of shots at the cover around him. Pretty soon Jaken was clear, but now Kol was trying to deal with the IED. "What do you see?!" He called out to her as he continued to fire suppression shots at his target.
He only paused a moment when he heard a massive boom from above and a bright flash of light.

meanwhile, two hundred thousand miles (321,869 km) above the surface of the earth, The Beacon of Hope orbited. Three pods, each one ten meters tall (or 33 feet) hung from the Beacon above the Earth. The three pods were released, and they propelled themselves away from the ship. Once they were safely away from the Beacon and moving at a sufficient velocity, three portals opened up, one for each of them. They flew through them and met the earth's atmosphere on the other side.
Up in the sky, far above the resort, three brilliant flashes of light lit up the already sunny sky as the three pods burst into flame on their descent. Each pod activated it's air breaks and thrusters to slow their descent until they were going slow enough that their landing wouldn't cause mass collateral damage. Midair, one of the pods exploded, the pieces disintegrating as they flew apart from each other and the plume of smoke shooting down for a moment before it's buoyancy lifted it back up. It appeared as if nothing was in that pod. The other two pods landed in open areas, or at least relatively open ones seeing as the first one smashed several tables in front of the diner. The second landed in the empty pool Tempest had gotten the water from.
The two pods opened up, the front and sides falling away. Within the pods were two three story tall war droids. The first one, dubbed Warlord, stepped forward. It reached to it's back and pulled out Regicide, a truly colossal twenty foot long warhammer equipped with a singularity core. Space itself seemed to distort in it's wake as Warlord swung it through the air and into it's hands. Warlord itself was heavily armored, being almost two thirds as wide as it was tall simply from it's armor. On it's front was a portrait of a king wielding a warhammer and standing atop a mound of skulls. In the place of it's head was the central core of the iconic hive symbol, with six other sensors surrounding it in a hexagon.
The second one, Lumberjack, climbed out of the deep end of the pool with a single step, pulling it's gun, Sawmill, off of it's back and swinging it around front. Calling Sawmill a minigun would be a horrible understatement. It was more like a rotary cannon with twelve barrels, each one as big around as a typical heavy tank's main gun. Beneath the main part of the gun was a bayonet made of an arc saw (basically an energy chainsaw). Lumberjack itself was not as wide, heavy, or heavily armored as Warlord, but it wasn't short on armor either. It was also considerably more mobile, it's movements seemingly unaffected by the weight of Sawmill.
The two titanic machines announced in unison to the assassins as every civilian left in the area shrieked and ran as far away as possible. "ASSASSINS SURRENDER IMMEDIATELY OR BE ELIMINATED."
