I don't think it is (and it really shouldn't be).

Saturn, where the heck did that come from?

No matter how tempting it may be, as a DM I can't both present a problem and solve it.
Every time a DMPC or NPC fixes something a payer couldn't i'm diminishing and undermining that player's contribution.

I did once try to record a Let's Play of a Power Rangers game about a year ago. I went with Bandicam because I'm cheap, and the lag was unbearable. As soon as it was turned off, the game ran smoothly. I may just have a weak computer.

Re: Chat Thread 43: Good Ol' ArcWolves' Club (Voting's hard,
Not surprising. I cant say I've used that specific one, but I know from others I've tried (I wanted to do speedpaint videos for a while) the cheaper and more hastily coded ones can as much as double the resource usage of whatever it's recording (since your machine is effectively processing everything twice now, once for the recording once for your monitor). that's what I meant about needing extra ram if you're going to go the software route instead of dedicated capture hardware.

OBS is a good one I've found. I used it to stream Amnesia some years back on Twitch. Pretty sure it has a record feature to allow for saved playback. Best part is that it's free as well. Pretty nifty piece of software, if a little hard to set up.

Re: Chat Thread 43: Good Ol' ArcWolves' Club (Voting's hard,
I think I've used Fraps and Bandicam before. Sadly, I didn't have the RAM to record properly without little lag. I thought maybe it was time to upgrade it so I bought one of those RAM chips online. I did a little research beforehand to see if it would fit right, buuut it wasn't enough cause when I tried it out, it didn't work.

Okay I got talk about this cause I find this both funny and cruel at the same time. You see my family and I are taking a trip to New York City in June, and we're planning on seeing two Broadway shows, one of them being the musical Bandstand. Well I just found out they're going to release the cast album for it very soon. So what's the funny/cruel part? The album is going to be released on June 23rd. The exact same day we leave for the trip.

Re: Chat Thread 43: Good Ol' ArcWolves' Club (Voting's hard,
I never really thought about this until now, but the superman references in The Iron Giant and Superman's World of Cardboard speech actually really fit together. He is massive, to him every other living thing on the planet is an ant. His every action, every movement, need to be made with care to avoid crushing something or someone, and the rare instances where he looses his temper are nightmarish.

Re: Chat Thread 43: Good Ol' ArcWolves' Club (Voting's hard,
I've never seen the Iron Giant. I hear it's a great one.
And that is a pretty good quote coming from Superman. Honestly never realized how much care he has to put into common actions for safety until I heard that speech.
And now, let's see y'all figure out which other classic movies I haven't seen

Re: Chat Thread 43: Good Ol' ArcWolves' Club (Voting's hard,
Yeah I've seen the cardboard speech, too.
I'm one of those people who don't really like Superman because he's, like, all the cliché superpowers rolled into one hero and that makes him uninteresting...but this is one of the few moments when he shows some real depth of character...and you just can't help but feel powerful yourself from listening to that speech.

This is a thing.
I'm sure there are stranger crossovers, but initial reviews are good.
...Rangers in Injustice 2? That I don't quite see working. Scorpion managed to make some sense.

Re: Chat Thread 43: Good Ol' ArcWolves' Club (Voting's hard,
why THAT group though?
Yes, i know they were the first to get adapted for an english audience, but there are FAR better (and worse) teams.
also, given their equipment is technology running on ancient magical Coins/Spirits/Crystals/Whatever-The-Cars-Ran-On during the Zordon era, any one of them turns superman into a glass canon given his rarely-used weakness to magic.

Re: Chat Thread 43: Good Ol' ArcWolves' Club (Voting's hard,
The magic part of the MMPR abilities were rather downplayed, despite Zordon being referred to as a space wizard. Heck, I think in the new movie, the coins were somewhat mystical, but never fully explained.
I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the weapons are made to have little effect considering this on Superman. The last of the series is supposed to be out in October, with three already being released. I'm wondering if I should get them as they come or wait for a compilation.

Re: Chat Thread 43: Good Ol' ArcWolves' Club (Voting's hard,
Welp, physics just got broken.
Basically what they've done is they've fired lasers at crystals to make the atoms in them spin while they're cooled to basically absolute zero, a state of no energy. The atoms are only spinning at half the rate at which the lasers are firing though which doesn't make sense unless the crystal is asymmetrical not just in space but also in time.
Pretty cool and pretty mind-boggling, huh?

Breaking the rules of known physics, but there is still plenty that is unknown.

Wait a second, i thought matter being in that kind of state was imposible, because it defied entropy. the heck is going on?

Re: Chat Thread 43: Good Ol' ArcWolves' Club (Voting's hard,
physics starts to get weird when you get small enough, so things we think impossible may be very possible, we just haven't created the right conditions. Quantum stuff is cool as heck. assuming this isn't a case of human error in measuring and this is actually what's going on, we'll probably have to wait a while for an explanation to make sense of it, or know what it means in the grand scheme of things.

Re: Chat Thread 43: Good Ol' ArcWolves' Club (Voting's hard,
you could probably take a day trip to south korea where it never went off the market, or even just get it shipped cheap to you. but yeah, probably
Re: Chat Thread 43: Good Ol' ArcWolves' Club (Voting's hard,
Oh, yes, a day trip to South Korea
I wonder which supermarket might carry that... Have I seen any foreign brand cereals? I haven't been looking, but now I'm curious
Edit:
Checking the flights to South Korea makes me actually consider the day trip possibility. Though it'd be an unusually expensive day.

Just for cereal?
I barely remember that cereal, but I don't remember if I liked it.
Love Oreo's, though, I'd definitely get some.

Nah, not just for the cereal. It'd have to be an actual trip to see South Korea. No cereal is quite worth that price

I just found out that Peter Sallis (best known for his role as Clegg in Last of the Summer Wine and the voice of Wallace in Wallace in Gromit) has passed away at the age of 96. This saddens me since I grew up watching Wallace and Gromit shorts (specifically The Wrong Trousers). Rest in Peace Peter.
