New Year's Resolutions!... For the Year 2016! Exciting!
"But ArcWolf
it's like a week into the year.
Isn't it a bit late for-"
NO! It's not too late for this thread to exist, poster,
because apparently, some of y'all made resolutions and have already quit.
Now, I'm not here to point fingers.
Fingers are valuable; don't want to expose them to angry swords.
However, I dunna, I think it'd be easier to keep your resolutions if you tell people about it, and (contrary to popular belief) people who post on forums are people.
So, post your resolution if you so desire and keep us updated throughout the year so we can cheer you on and what not.
Here, I'll start:
I want to eat healthier and run
every
single
day.
Have fun y'all.

I already tried and failed mine. <_< I was trying not to be too obsessive over little details and get things done but I failed within 10 hours of that. >_> Goes with the theme of me being a ******* moron. >_<

Gonna have to go with the boring, generic response.
Yep. It's the gym. Been training once or twice per week but that's not nearly enough.
Maybe bump that up to four, five, or...
Gasp!
Six times a week?
Also maybe hit legend in Hearthstone but that's not really important hehe

My sister is an artistic genius at least when it comes to anime stuff but she draws mostly on the tablet. I'm sure that she can draw on paper just fine though so it shouldn't be that hard.

Well I've been trying to lose a bit of weight from the holidays those tamales were so good. I regret nothing. and trying to improve my attitude towards other people even thought it's a little difficult but I think I can manage.
There's no place like home...except the Housepets home page.
Re: New Year's Resolutions!... For the Year 2016! Exciting!
My resolution was to be a bit more productive.
So far it's been going okay. I've been trying to write more, draw more, and I've been practicing making pngs.
I just hope I can keep it up all year

Good luck with your goals, everyone!
As for me, eh, I learned years ago not to set goals for this. Why? Because I end up not caring. I find that these things should not be relegated to a single point. Make close goals, and build up after reaching each one.
...and that's why I'm very poor at planning.

Get a job.
Less a 'New Year's Resolution' and more a continuation of the quest, though. :v

I mean, I'm doing part time stuff, but more full-time, actual career, I can see myself doing this for the next few years (at least) type of job.

Re: New Year's Resolutions!... For the Year 2016! Exciting!
According to the statistics most people tend to fail their new year resolution(s) because most tend to set the bar too high for themselves. Most people can't just quit a habit cold turkey.
Oh and it also helps to keep a journal or written logs on it so you know just how much progress you guys made on your new year's resolution because a lot people tend feel like they haven't made any real progress at all and completely drop it undoing all the progress they made. Dayzee would you say you would've made it 10 hours if you didn't try at all?
In your case Dayzee, I'd say if the small or little details are really pet peeving you off take a break let your mind clear and reset so you can refocus and finish the main goal of the task at hand, does that sound like a good compromise? Not sure if that helps but you know yourself better than me so if you can think of a compromise to accomplishing your resolution that you think works better for you do that instead.Amazee Dayzee wrote:I already tried and failed mine. <_< I was trying not to be too obsessive over little details and get things done but I failed within 10 hours of that. >_> Goes with the theme of me being a ******* moron. >_<

This year I'm aiming for a goal to draw more things, and just see some overall improvement in my art. I've barely been drawing last year, and I want to change that because I feel I have lots of potential.

Re: New Year's Resolutions!... For the Year 2016! Exciting!
This year I hope to start sculpting again. I have not sculpted sence my senoir year of high school and I intend on doing it as soon as I can, but so far I have not been able to afford it. I'm not to stressed about it since I still have a whole year left.
There are also many other things that I intend on doing, including weight lifting (which I have already started on), improving my diet, get a better job, move out from my mom's place, pratice writing, and maybe start becoming more socialble.
There also one other thing which should be easiest to keep: Don't vote for Donald Trump.
EDIT: I also plan on being smarter with my money and read more books.

I've tried doing the break thing though the thought just keeps on creeping up in the back of my mind no matter HOW much I try to take a break from it. >.< As for your last point, I never thought of it like that before.Oblivious Adobo wrote:According to the statistics most people tend to fail their new year resolution(s) because most tend to set the bar too high for themselves. I consider a resolution something that can only be failed when you give up on it (barring time constraints).
This year I resolve
To change, to develop, to evolve
Read a book within the week
Get a job and not just seek
Organize my livelihood
Change my "I want" to an "I should"
Work out lose weight get in shape
End my need to procrastinate
Give more time to my family
Give God a bigger part of me
These are what I resolve to do
The results depend on what you choose

Re: New Year's Resolutions!... For the Year 2016! Exciting!
I tried to do my resolution tonight and I planned to get it started by trying to play a Pokemon game, but the thoughts of all the other times I had tried to play it through and then didn't do it in a certain order was too overwhelming so I didn't even bother to start it.

After reading some of these, I too would like to resolve to manage my money better and read more books.

That is excellent life advice, when you over think about it.Amazee Dayzee wrote:I feel like sometimes I should just put my head through a window...
But really, shattering glass notwithstanding, a breath of fresh air is something we could all use. Good job venting that frustration.
Specifically, out a window.

Re: New Year's Resolutions!... For the Year 2016! Exciting!
That wasn't what I meant. I meant that I get so obsessive and can't stop obsessing about the details and it stresses me out so much that I think it would be easier to do that.
