Re: Colored B&W versions [Refur project]
Here is a repost of my previous re-coloring. The colors are a bit better, but I couldn't save the fire, if you catch my drift.Still looks kinda crappy though...I would love if someone could point me to a GIMP tutorial for how to color stuff and make it NOT look like crap.
Anyway, here it is:

You're kidding me! I thought they looked like cr-I-I mean yeah, I TOTALLY meant to do that. hehe...phew! That was a CLOSE one...Tobee wrote:I like the colors, they look... strong, somehow =3
Re: Colored B&W versions [Refur project]
Well, it does look like it's just used the fill tool and nothing else. Seeing bits of while around the black lines that the fill tool won't fill, being a different shade of white xD But it's better than black and white xDfenning wrote:You're kidding me! So, I can't like it then?<.< Doesn't matter, we all have different opinions, I think it looks in some way charming, or something similar. =3

Re: Colored B&W versions [Refur project]
I only have a shading tutorial in Photoshop, but it should roughly be the same as coloring.
basically Shift+N > put layer on "multiply" when coloring a white background.
for coloring grape, I use a "Overall" layer
http://necrath.deviantart.com/art/Simpl ... -149527138
best is to just play around with it.

Ok, took your advice Kyderra, and this is the result. I think it looks a whole lot better, even though it's still kinda creamy-ish, if you catch my drift.
Any other feedback is well accepted.

lines seem's to be bigger, but overall it's a massive improvement in my opinion
however, I don't think Rick Griffin will be happy you uploaded this on your DA page without his permission.
for example, I could upload all of these to the housepets DA group exclusively, but it might cripple the traffic of the website.

Oh come on, Kyderra, it's good. You'd maybe do it better, but it's good, and it's better than the B&W version!

Sorry, couldn't get it on here in the first place if I didn't put it there, but I'll find a way, now that I know its illegal and stuff.
K, it isn't on my DA anymore.

Re: Colored B&W versions [Refur project]
This is really great, but the recent trend in super-bright background colors is blinding me
(Like the bright green couch w/ bright yellow bg in the first mouse revolution strip)
Any chance you could tone it down a tad in the future

2 things:Obbl wrote:Though it's a bit blurry, everything feels thicker

1. Yeah, I'll try to tone it down in the future
2. yeah, that's what happens when you use the Gaussian blur tool to fill in the white pixels. I'll try to make sure it doesn't happen again!
Thanks for the support guys!
Edit: I got dibs on thematic arc 1/3!

Ok, here is Thematic Arc of Questionable Quality, panel 1:
Any and all constructive feedback is welcomed!

I think I've REALLY improved from last time! BTW, the slight pixelation on the outline is due to me having to remove parts of gray, resulting in parts of the line being removed, and NO, There is NOTHING I could have done about it, unless there was already a just outline version of the panel. It's just how it is in GIMP, *sigh*. Oh well !

Edit
(dips? I made it 3 mouths ago ^^)
if you want to do that last one, go ahead, it looks like a lot of work and i would be rather happy if you did it.

Oh, he would. Even without overanalyzing, we're talking about anthropomorphic creatures who, when treated with dignity, get all the basic comforts a human can have, including toys, cutlery, chairs and beds. Only the uncaring 'parents' like Sasha's dad would treat them with less than that.Alex wrote:Peanut can sleep on the floor. He's a dog, after all, he won't mind.

Ok, here is my current progress on the BIG TEDIOUS PANEL!!!
Enjoi!
I just gotta clear out some white pixels, lighten some stuff up and then BAM! Finished!!! Any feedback is appreciated!

Re: Colored B&W versions [Refur project]
That's a good colorization you did there, except the white pixels which you'll remove. Just... Grape is too dark. Her fur is much lighter.

Re: Colored B&W versions [Refur project]
Ok, here is update #2 on my progress on the BIG TEDIOUS PANEL!!!
As per usual, any feedback is welcome, just don't unnecessarily point out what I've already said I would do to the pic (*EHEM* ALEX, hehe ).
Enjoi!
BTW, This project, overall, has taken me between 4-6 hours at least, And, although it doesn't look like much, this one update took about 2-3 hours, so don't say I never did nothin' for the re-fur project, hehe!
As you can see, I've lightened up Grape and anything else that needed to be lightened up, and I've finished the forest. All that's left is touching up the inside of Peanut's outline, filling in/touching up some of the blades of grass that are sticking up, clearing away any other unwanted pixels, softening the outlines of anything black, and some general touch ups on the some of the houses.
As per usual, any feedback is welcome, just don't unnecessarily point out what I've already said I would do to the pic (*EHEM* ALEX, hehe ).
