I'm not an artist.
I know it.
Just to be clear, when mother nature was distributing "drawing hands" I was probably trying to find a toilet.
When I came back there were only leftovers, and that's why I've got, artistically speaking, two left hands.
And i'm tragically right-handed.
Is to counterbalance the lack of drawing skills that I started to use softwares like Gimp.
So here we are, my first submission here is a re-interpretation of an old theme originally treated by Kiderra,
I just tried to simulate a little more Peanut's gel pens' work

-- Crush Test --

Image

And this is the logical consequence, ideally the ending frame of a dolly/zoom closing "Fido's Return" arc

-- The secret beneath the pillow --

Image

Hope you like it

Douglas isn't my real name, but because of a name block put on me by a higher-order being known as Djinni, I can't say my real name.

I'm barely able to elaborate somebodys elses' work, just a step further than a kid filling with colors a B&W draw. ;)
And that's exactly what I was recently doing for Valerio, the italian translator. He is doing a great work, translating not only the
whole comic, but all fancomics too!
Here are a couple of Rick's sketches (not from the comic) colored by me and posted in the Italian translation thread

Hi there, I'm back!
Browsing through Rick's works spread on the net I found this sketch, and I choose to make the color version of it
mostly because it's the closest available view of Squeak and Spo I've seen.
The harder part was the removal of all the noise from the image (an overall veil of scatterd grey dots)

That's a nice color in. :D
Okay, so I know that Spo is meant to be sickly, but is Squeak older than him?

Also, I'm looking forward to seeing if any knew Pet-Car photos get posted, those are great.

Older doesn't necessarily mean taller though. Some guys in my college classes are shorter than girls that they are older than.

Yeah, but Squeak seems 'developed'(if you know what I mean), while Spo comes of as an annoying kid most of the time(at least in my opinion).\

Also, since I'm getting to work on the wiki, I was wondering if anyone could help with images. Like coloring in concept are sheets and the like, that would be really good for the wiki. :D

Hi guys,

strollin' on the net I found an high resolution B&W inked version of this strip, so I colored and minimally GIMPed part of it, trying to honour
two masters in a single panel.
One is quite obvious, but the second, mmm, maybe is obvious just for Joey and me... anyway, the clean version is here.

...And Now for Something Completely Different...
This time I need a big help for the dialog.
During the works on Valerio's translation thread I had to restore the italian version of the strip starting the zoo arc, "Have leash, will travel", and beeing in youth an eager Science Fiction reader I appreciated the reference to R. A. Heinlein's novel "Have spacesuit, will travel".
Well, following my thoughs in the vast, obscure and empty space that lays halfway between my ears, I was a little bit distracted: instead of doing what I was supposed to do on the strip... I did this

-- Have space-leash, will travel -- ImageEDIT: this is the version with the last dialog submitted in, textless version is here.
Image

I launched several probes in search of signs of an intelligent dialog to insert in the strip: unfortunately that's my inner (and empty) space, no one returned valuable data.
So, guys, any idea?

First Panel-
Mr. Sandwich: Hey, would either of you guys want to go to space?
Peanut: YAY!
Grape: Not me.

Second Panel-
Grape: No way! Whenever Scientists want animals in space, it's just so they can risk a life on an operation they wouldn't want to loose a human on. It's sickening, it's like we're disposable items. They don't even send us on missions that would be a heroic sacrifice.

Third Panel-
Mr. Sandwich: Actually, It's a little different this time. They have something else planned.
Grape: How so?

Third Panel-
Grape: Interesting, but something feels wrong.
Peanut: If you want, I could go in your pla-
Grape: No.

How is that?

As of this point in time, there are 1636 users registered on this forum.
I'm sure there are many more fans who don't use the forums too.
So, definitely enough fans to fill one movie theater. Or thirty.
