Re: 2014/02/26 - The Flagon With The Dragon
unless the wikipedia article got this wrong, this ending still isn't sticking to the book's ending. I understood having the judge explain what happened instead of having the cops read a letter after everything happened, but why have him drink poison instead of elaborately shooting himself? (of course he only did that so the cops would find him killed in the way described in the journals the guests were obviously writing while there was a murderer loose.)
Re: 2014/02/26 - The Flagon With The Dragon
There's still a chance that King can be in this. That is, if Rick made the ending like in the story in which two detectives arrive on the island and try to make sense of what happened.

So the Judge carries on,
outlining the denouement
for the remaining killer
in this old Christie thriller.
Hang later or hang now
is his way of saying 'ciao'
and he quaffs the deadly soda
to end the explanation he owed her.
So now she chooses now
and dons the old rope tie.
Thus our final killer says how
she's going to say goodbye.
One Furry Indian, back where it begun;
takes the only choice and then there were none.

Dang it, so close to thwarting the plan. It's always the little things that ruin it, like killing the only other witness.

Re: 2014/02/26 - The Flagon With The Dragon
Yup, I was expecting this since Rick has never came up with any plot twist and chose to stick with the original plot as much as possible in every imaginate arc. When a tense situation in the play arrives he somehow manage to turn it in a parody. And this make sence if you consider they are performing a play. It wouldn't be appropriate to say they are playing "And then there were none" if they plan to change every part they didn't liked of the book. But on the other hand, this somehow contradicts the whole concept of "spontaneity" and "do whatever" that Peanut has in mind when doing this things.
Btw, Tarot is definitely the best criminal mastermind ever! XD

Oh, that's a good point. I wonder if there's an explanation about it. Let's see what happen next.RandomGeekNamedBrent wrote:unless the wikipedia article got this wrong, this ending still isn't sticking to the book's ending. Well, the dude WAS totally creepin'...
Poison in the orange soda would have solved the killing bit a long time ago had tarot spiked everyone's drink in the beginning.
That is a nice rope. Where can I buy such a sturdy looking tool?

See Peanut, this is why you shouldn't be creepin'. You'z coulda' stayed alive (though get arrested later for your previous crimes), but whatevz', creepers gonna' creep.

I like that shot of Grape in panel 3 (assuming the character lives, even if the character that the character is playing dies), a rare look.
True, but that is neither fun nor poetic justice.copper wrote:Poison in the orange soda would have solved the killing bit a long time ago had tarot spiked everyone's drink in the beginning.

Huh, this end doesn't follow the book in any way. Haven't seen any movie version. Is it adapted from one of the movies?

I love the foreshadow in here that that points to another twist

Tarot's lying. In the book, the judge shoots himself in the head with a contraption that would make suicide look unlikely.

The pellet with the poison's in the vessel with the pestle. The chalice from the palace has the brew that is true.Argent wrote:"The pellet with the poison's in the flagon with the dragon; the vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true."valerio wrote:I still didn't get the title of today's comic...

...They broke the chalice from the palace. So now the pellet with the poison's in the flagon with the dragon. The vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true.

Nooo Grape don't do it! Even with Lombard dead, you still can probably convince the authorities! You did record that whole conversation as proof didn't you? No?
Okay then in that case I'll get you a chair.

The bodies would only be about a week old, as everyone dies within 8-10 days.deepskycyan wrote:Nooo Grape don't do it! Even with Lombard dead, you still can probably convince the authorities! You did record that whole conversation as proof didn't you? No?

Evil judge, he thought of that possible plan failure. The judge will suicide with poison and Grape is going to suicide her character. Who's really lying now? Also, some of them have drinked too much orange soda to be a game...
Peanut was totally creepin'? That's kinda real, Grape, you didn't say it only as part of the play, did you? Now he's at least a bit.
BTW, I don't know if this comic is still too young or has got too old, but in both the cases, it has black spots on its skin...

You know, guys, I said at the beginning of this arc that I've only read the book and seen the René Clair film. Now I know a lot of you haven't watched the René Clair film, but I would kind of assume that if something didn't happen the same way in the book . . .

Grape/Overy has a point, though. Peanut/Lombard was a total creeper at the end...
