I just got my copy of "Bride of Re-Animator" in the mail yesterday!

If you have not seen "Re-Animator" or its sequels "Bride of Re-Animator" and "Beyond Re-Animator" (but in all fairness, "Beyond Re-Animator" is for completists only. It is the weakest) I HIGHLY recommend them. "Re-Animator" is one of the best horror films of all time!

I love "Bride of Re-Animator" but the DVD is kind of crappy. It looks like it was taken from a VHS because it looks dark and grainy. It says that it has widescreen and full screen versions, but both are full screen, one just has black bars super imposed to try to create the illusion of widescreen. But, it just crops the image further! Its kind of absurd.

Anyway, in this sequel, Herbert West has gone beyond just reanimating the dead and seeks to create a new being from reanimated parts.

I didn't watch as many movies as I would've liked to over break but I did see Hercules In New York (1969) It's Scwarzenegger's first film and gained something of a cult following as a "so bad it's good" kind of film. I personally found it hilariously campy.

I picked up a copy of the original "Assault On Precinct 13" at a flea market. I forgot how good it is.

I also saw this week the documentary "Ed Wood: A Look Back In Angora".

And my replacement copy of "The Crazies" has yet to show up.

I plan to see "The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug" next week. The town will be half deserted and it should be easy to get in.

I just saw The Conjuring lat night with my next door neighbors; and during the final exorcism scene (right as the chair is righted from it's upside-down position) right after the cabinet/shelf/armoir fell, the captions ran through at an extreme speed, for the whole scene, BACKWARDS. Perfectly, from the end of the scene, to the beginning, in seconds. We tried to get it to happen 2 more times, but the captions responded as normal.
This was the most perfect glitch ever and it happened at the most perfect time.
I challenge anyone to find one better

Anyway, this is now Probably my favorite exorcism movie ever, as well as maybe my favorite Horror ever(/one of).

Frozen was really great! The visuals were gorgeous and I love how they subverted the "getting the guy will solve all the girl's problems" trope.

recently watched The Harder They Come a crime/gangster-ish movie from Jamaica. Its the only English language movie that required subtitles in the United States.
I found out about the movie from The Clash song Guns of Brixton, "You see, he feels like Ivan / Born under the Brixton sun / His game was called survivin' / At the end of 'The Harder They Come'".

Let's hope that it won't be as horrible as the last American version of Godzilla.

Today is Friday the 13th! So I am going to stay up all night watching the Friday the 13th film series.

The second Hobbit movie was great! Though it really makes you suspend disbelief as far as realistic action goes.

Went to see the second Hobbit movie, it was a lot of fun.

I recently found out that The Secret Life of Walter Mitty is a remake. The original has Danny Kaye and Boris Karloff in it, but I'm not interested in seeing it. I'd like to see the remake when it comes out.

Believe it or not, Inglorious Basterds (this is the title of the movie, spelt this way so teens would want to watch it...just like Dick Tracey was probably called that to market to children) was a remake too. Who knew :P

...I am really getting tired of this filtering system...D1ck Tracey...ok, I'm more just plain impressed that the filtering system does that too...

Saw the second hobbit as well. I just went for the dragon, and my brother thought it was good. However, I laughed when he compared everythign to Skyrim.

Godzilla trailer made me all teary. The classic roar in theaters was beautiful.

That Godzilla trailer does look great. I loved the scene near the start where the soldiers are trailing red as they dive through the storm clouds. Just a striking image, there.

So who else is excited for this? The first one was amazing, but I'm a bit wary they may not manage to emulate the same success with a sequel. So I dunno how to feel.

Well, I personally found Kung Fu Panda 2 to be even better than the already-great Kung Fu Panda, so I don't see any reason to think the same won't happen here. I'll remain optimistic for now.

So I watched a movie called Gentlemen Broncos this week with some friends of mine. It's from the guy who directed Napolean dynamite and Nacho Libre. I thought it was absolutely brilliant. It was the kind of film that just seems to epitomize its' director. It all just seemed so natural, which is good to see as a lot of recent comedy films just feel like they're pushing way too hard for laughs. This just seemed.....efortless.

Sat around watching movies with dad all day. We watched Hannibal and it was awesome and dark and twisted and just.....wow. I like horror films and films about serial killers (dunno what that says about me :? ) and this one definitely held my attention. I like to think that says something about the quality of the film. We also watched Logan's run. It was an interesting movie to say the least. Nothing special but it had a really cool and unique story and some good acting performances from Michael York and Peter ustinov. Definitely a cool campy sci-fi romp I'd reccomend for anyone into that.

I finally got to see the uncut version of "Puppet Master". I've loved that movie as long as I can remember but seeing it with the extra 2 minutes cut out by the MPAA is like living in a house for 20 years and discovering it has an extra room.

A few days ago I tried watching the Le Miserables movie.

I couldn't even finish it. After hearing the poorly executed songs and the less than stellar filming, I just couldn't.

Watched The Cheap Detective, a parody of Humphrey Bogart movies "Maltese Falcon" and "Casablanca", Peter Faulk plays the Bogart detective.
He had done this in an early movie, Murder by Death, both written by Neil Simon. Both movies are hilarious,
