There's been a revolution and he's on the run looking for a US citizen to marry.

Dang, you beat me to it. I was gonna suggest that there had been a military coup as he left and that he technically isn't the prince anymore.

That maybe a interesting scenario. If that is true, then I believe this whole arc is going to have a somewhat surprising twist in the end if what i'm thinking is true. can't wait to see the next two comics =3

There's an explain for everything, Fido, don't think badly. Tell him the truth, Sabrina. Concerning the K-9, maybe it's something related with Maxwell?
Grape and Sabrina looks funny and cool in this strip. Yeah, Sabrina it's now having lot of fun, after the initial worrying.

Jata's father is dead.
Fair correction. He's still not King though. Although he can still be the head of state if the King is dead.
He's still called a prince because:
A) He has not undertaken the crowning ceremony yet.
B) He may have an elder brother that precedes him in the line of succetion, thereby preventing him from becoming king.
I find it really traggic how happy he looked when he was telling Sabrina his father had passed away.
20th century fox? Given that this is the year 2020, that fox must be dead by now. Sadface! : (

Jata's comment in the first panel about "the sandbox" made me imagine him pawing at a giant pile of kitty litter in the bathroom.

Ya know, I never really though about that till now. Was he really that upset that his father argued with Sabrina's and caused them to leave the country? Or mayhapse the king wasn't the nicest ruler/father...

At this point, we are rather in the metaphorical dark concerning Jata's relationship with his father. It could have been any number of things, depending on how (and if) Rick wants to explore that story angle. Additionally, we have no idea how long Jata has had to come to terms with this, his grieving period could have been quite protracted.

I suppose the son of a leader is taught and is aware from a very early age that their father is a target and could be assassinated at any time. There by the son learns to treasure every moment with his father and when the time does come - ether by assassination or natural causes - expects the inticipated outcome. Therefore he was not 'happy' per se, but rather just has come to terms with it.
Also....I think "Hush, it's fun!" Should replace the phrase "Wizard did it." In the popular lexicon.
Sometimes it's just best to not think about those sorta things... but then again... NO!
But now I'm starting to wonder what's gonna happen when EVERYONE decides to come together (if that's gonna happen). It's having my mind jump all over the place.
