Try looking up AudioSauna. It's still being developed, but is fully functioning as a music making program.

I use Noteworthy Composer when composing; the version I have allows one to export MIDI files.

To quote from the video game thread topic:
TheMobian wrote:Just played through Klonoa: Door to Phantomile, and Klonoa 2: Lunatea's Veil again over the past week.

What can I say? Their still the two greatest games ever to be created on the face of the earth.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to cry in the corner to this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drkUZB13ai8
And sit in whimsical fancy while tearing up to this song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaBVsUBw7v4
I don't think any other game before, or since, has had music as emotionally stirring as the Klonoa series. ever...
Yep.
I can't think of a more emotional soundtrack to listen to today.

Dang, the piano and strings in that first link are amazing. Kinda reminds me of "Beginning of Fall" from Mana Khemia 2.

And second link, upbeat with a bass, chimes, piano? Pretty dang cool. And now there's a flute. Cool.

WHY HAVE I NOT HEARD OF THIS GAME!?

Probably because its the most underrated game series in the history of the world. Plus its extremely rare to get your hands on any one of the games right now. I mean, I think the cheapest you can get "Klonoa: Door to Phantomile" new for is over 300 bucks on ebay,(there's a "Never been opened" one for 2,000 dollars, not even joking) and used its still 60 bucks minimum on Amazon. *dies*
But still, the Klonoa series was AMAZING! And the emotion of the music was just so stunning every time...

Here's another one that makes me teary eyed: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xTQ1ChXeqIk
And probably the most famous of Klonoa's songs, Baladium's Drive: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YyhuIRRnpM

I could spend all day linking to Klonoa Music, but I think its best to let you guys explore it on your own. Or, better yet, BUY ALL THE GAMES! Its totally worth it! ;)

Right now, I've found myself addicted to this song: Noisia's "Soul Purge."

"Nervous, twisted, coursing off and convoluted, slightly edgy, messy, caught in the net, left to our own devices... these thoughts we collected, but after the soul purge we emerge from the depths." It describes me pretty well...

I'm also really into Amon Tobin's album, ISAM. It sounds like he's just cobbling together random sounds, which is basically what he did, but he does it so well that it became as a masterpiece of electronic music. Might I mention that he only used one instrument sample in the creation of that album, and it was a kick drum that only appeared in the second half of the first track?

I'm really intrigued by this late 90's electronic. I like how laid-back it is.

It's really depressing that stuff like this is what replaced it. Ugh...

Didn't see this earlier, good stuff.

Borrowed some Marilyn Manson from a friend, never really listened to his stuff before.
Eh, not all of it's that great, but I love the covers of the Eurythmics Sweet Dreams and Depeche Mode's Personal Jesus

Marilyn Manson is a guilty pleasure for me. Although I think he does good music, especially covers, his sound, appearance and whole persona is just so derivative. He rips off everybody from Alice Cooper to Trent Reznor to David Bowie to any number of industrial or black metal bands. As much talent as he shows he is kind of a poser.

Deals Death - Collapse

Mastodon - Oblivion

Scartown - Neon Blood

Ghost Tonight, by Chairlift
One of the catchiest songs I've ever heard

Signed, Sealed, Delivered, I'm Yours, by of course Stevie Wonder
(Bonus: An a capella version of it)

Diane Young, by Vampire Weekend

Rhythm Nation, by Janet Jackson (I wish there was a higher quality version of the music vid; all the ones I've seen are pretty low res)
