2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa

Post by Liam »

Yepp, it's that particular ball sport most Americans don't care about but pretty much everybody else is crazy about for some reason: Soccer.

Now the uber-event of Soccer has begun, the first time in history on African soil. And the Black Eyed Peas played at the opening ceremony.

Thoughts?

Americans don't care about Soccer because they have Football. Personally, I hate both. I find most sports pretty boring to say the least. But that's just my opinion.

Since both feature 22 guys running after a ball it's a good substitute, I would say.

I agree with Slippy. I dislike soccer just because of its angry cheerleaders. They start a fight in a second over what - a team.

OH MY GOD at green, seriously, if that was me, I would just leave the arena instantly and never return to play 'soccer' ever again

England drew the first match in 1966 if I'm not mistaken. Besides the goalie didn't make a massive mistake. I've seen worse.

Poor Australia...I thought they were playing austria half that game...austria aren't even In the world cup...

Cameroon lost to Japan....
WHAT?!?
Why is Ghana the ONLY African country that's won??

Also, Denmark scored an own-goal. They must be crazy embarrassed.

Ok I'm not a Soccer/Football fan but how do professional players do something like that? I mean there's making a mistake and then there that.

it bounced off a dude's head, off another's dude's back, and into their own goal while the goal was on the other side and totally wasn't expecting it

I managed to see the self-goal shiz, and that looks pretty well, SUP I Can't aim ?:> Not to be mean or anything, but that was just pure dumbness, really.. Big, epic fail.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fcqclJnfTMk theres the video, the guys in white shirts are supposed to score on the other side of the field, and they just scored in their own goal :3

Brazil 2 - 1 North Korea, PRK held Brazil scorless the first half, i was impressed by that, they alos had a few decent scoring chances but that'll do nothing against the best team in the world right now.

I was planning to say something when England and USA got through...but forgot. :?

Still, this is as good a time as any to say who's gonna win. Spain or Holland?

Personally, I'm going with Spain. ;)

Edit...where in the world did I get Holland from?
