I didn't get the impression that the camp was on fire, rather they had simply restarted the campsite's cooking fire.

It's 1625. The boat was built in 1605, the year the town was founded hasn't been specified.

I've updated the first post to make this clearer.

Events in Europe after 1620 may or may not be known to the characters. Events after early 1624 certainly won't.

Is the box Blacks put down on the deck supposed to be the box with the battling rats in it?

Also, just checked that Philip III was also titled "King of Spain and Portugal", since Philip IV was crowned in 1621. So Mister Xavier's announcement (Señor Xavier? How was the first officer of a Spanish ship styled?) on the island wasn't a potential anachronism.

Also all the reporting to the captain stuff, and some of Dune's dialog, would probably be done by the humans on the ship and Dune's owner. Not a big deal, just remember that as far as the humans are concerned all the animals are redshirts. One thing that could change that would be for the animals to do something that had a big positive effect on the ship and crew. Like, oh, reporting a sunken treasure ship instead of sneaking some of the treasure on board and hiding it. That one's water under the bridge, but I was kind of hoping someone would think of that.

I always thought the footlocker was built in to the back of the boat. I wouldn't have thought you could remove it...

Also, Bowsprit seems to be later getting back to the top of the mast than Cedric.

alright, so... I don't think I can stay in this RP. I'd like to, but it seems it gets most active while I'm asleep, so I wake up to a bunch of posts I have to read to know where I can get involved, or I've been left behind if I did manage to get involved, and the only way to solve this is if you guys slowed down, but then I'd feel like a jerk for slowing you down.

maybe I can get back in when school starts and my sleep schedule is different, but probably not, since I'll have classes to go to.

I've kind of felt a bit like that myself this week

, particularly with the swordfight, I'm going to have to read back a couple of weeks this evening to get back on track, particularly since there's a bunch of human activity I've kind of messed up on and will have to retcon.
