Not the best camera, but I'm on a fixed budget and it cost enough just to get it 200 feet in the air.

I'm finally going to contribute to this thread again, you guys. I went through all 25.1 GB of my photography late last night and picked out 103 of my favorite shots. As soon as the 347 MB of data uploads to Photobucket, I'll share it here for everyone. =)

Hopefully a random woman from Finland on Blogspot won't steal my photography this time. :P

By the way, I do not use filter or editing software for my photography. How the pictures were taken in their original format will be how you all see them.

These photos have been taken everywhere:
My house,
my school,
the various cities near where I live,
the local zoo,
the Biltmore Estate, NC
Hillsville, VA
Carolina Beach, NC
Myrtle Beach, SC
Massachusetts,
Pennsylvania.

There are snow shots, beach shots, flower shots, landscape shots, sunset shots, animal shots, lake shots, water shots, architecture shots, artwork shots, restaurant shots, fireworks shots, and some pictures of foreign candy (courtesy of 44R0N for the supplies).

- Most of these pictures I have taken with my Samsung SL420, another large majority were taken with the camera on my old cell phone, the Samsung Reality, Generation I.
- One photo (the one with my cat crawled under a blanket) was taken with a Kodak camera that I exchanged in favor of the SL420, and about three photos were taken with an older camera of my dad's (also a Samsung but eight years old now and very bulky).
- A handful of the floral arrangement photos were taken with my new cell phone, the Samsung Reality, Generation II. [The camera is almost always terrible on this model.]

So... yeah. The upload is currently only at 21% complete. It'll be a few hours or so.
Let me tell you about Homestuck.

My photobucket account is here.
Most of the photos were shot with a Fujifilm Finepix JZ500. The rest were shot on my phone and my iPod. I have some more from my recent trip to Europe which I will upload when I finish sorting through them.

The camera is little more than a point-and-shoot and I'm only an amateur with absolutely no training or experience but I appreciate any and all feedback. :)

That's why I like the rail transport in Switzerland. There's a train almost every 30 minutes, no matter where do you want to go :)

As a hobby photographer I like to take pictures of sunsets. Here is one of Juva (Finland):

Tilt-Shifting is a photo-manipulation term that is used when the editor selectively blurs parts of a photograph to create the illusion of miniaturization. It makes it look like you taken a picture of a very detailed toy set. Here are some examples from deviantArt. But honestly, tilt-shifting this way is basically the easy, fast way to do it.

Actually, I think originally tilt shifting required a special lense that did the blurring and whatnot itself. :P

So essentially it's shifting the focus to the middleground, correct?

I've never really edited any of my photos beyond the odd crop or autoenhancement.

If you've got a really fancy camera, you can also tilt-shift with special lenses. They shift downward and tilt around the vertical axis to mess with depth of field and create an image where a certain part of it appears sharp.

The lens I used is the one that came with my camera (Canon D12). It wasn't anything special. From what I've experienced with this technique, it's mostly about angle. Here's what the photo looked like originally. But like almost any effect made these days, people have found easier ways to do it.

I've seen a lot of videos that were shifted, and I can't imagine trying to do that without a special lens. Photographs, being still and whatnot, are easier to fake a real tilt-shift look.

Wow, so the tilt-shift really enhances the reds and yellow, doesn't it? Or was that something you did separately?

Russia is one of those (massively huge) general areas I would love to just wander around and take pictures.

Also,

Image

Something about an event (Kim Possible I think) triggers little things in the surrounding environment to kick off. In the Epcot train display, it's that some of the civilians turn into red-eyed things with their arms stretched out.

Heh, okay, thanks for an explanation. I guess it's fun to see... And I bet it was even more fun for those who engineered/constructed that display!
