Take Any Movie (Based on an animal) And make it houspets!
I had a dream last night that the movie called 'Homeward Bound' (Good movie if ya ask me) had the animals turned into Housepets...
So I just wondered if anyone had any ideas of their own...

Do you mean animal movies with anthropomorphic animals?

Yeah I guess you could say that. Sorry if I caused any confusion...

Re: Take Any Movie (Based on an animal) And make it houspets
Interesting idea, really.
This does remind me of something I've noticed in one of the earlier arcs. They seem to have pretty much the same movies in the HP universe as in the real world, with All Dogs go to Heaven being mentioned by name, and a line from Secret of NIMH being heard. Heck, Don Bluth himself was mentioned by name. Most of those movies that I remember had storylines where none of the animals could communicate with humans (with a few exceptions), yet those same movies are shown in a universe where the opposite is true. In that universe, that would seem weird for the characters to suddenly be unable to speak with humans, unless the versions in the HP universe are different enough to cover that weird part.
Then again, that's me overanalyzing stuff again.

Now that I think about it that reminds me of when I was younger with the garfield movies. Now if John understood him things would even more funny... I guess.
How did I even remember those movies >_>

Man, when I was first introduced to Garfield, I actually did think they were talking to each other. Then I learned that there was a distinction between thought-bubbles and text bubbles.snakebug wrote:Now that I think about it that reminds me of when I was younger with the garfield movies. Re: Take Any Movie (Based on an animal) And make it houspets
So true, It took me a while to realize why John wasn't actually responding to him.
And also I think the movie called Cats & Dogs would be funny if they were like the housepets characters...
Though they already know how to talk...

And since they can talk I kind of wonder how many animated movies were done in Live action in the HP universe. I mean was Secret of NIMH live action here? What about All Dogs go to Heaven? Since Scooby Doo was still a cartoon I guess not but it is still possible some of them were done that way. It brings up so many possibility and how things could and should be completely different in HP.D-Rock wrote:Interesting idea, really.

Watership Down.
Re: Take Any Movie (Based on an animal) And make it houspets
Hmm, now that I think about it, that does raise a lot of questions...
Well wouldnt that mean the movies that were cartoon movies, like Balto (had to watch it with my cousin) are live action then?
What does watership down mean?

Though (depending on which series your watching) scooby doo CAN talk to the gang. I think he has also been shown using his paws like the were hands and (when he's wearing a disguise) walking on two legs. It honestly wouldn't be that much of a stretch to convert him to housepets style.Argent wrote:Don't forget this one:D-Rock wrote:Interesting idea, really.

Play The Hayseed Knight. This isn’t self promotion, I just really like the game.

I think Cats & Dogs: The Revenge of Kitty Galore would be fairly easy to do.

This could easily translate into a forum game...
I think for the most part movies are parallel to us, with a minor twist. Homeward Bound is probably live action.

I'm pretty sure Homeward Bound is already Live Action.copper wrote:This could easily translate into a forum game...

Re: Take Any Movie (Based on an animal) And make it houspets
It is, but it would be even better live action!
Re: Take Any Movie (Based on an animal) And make it houspets
hmm... not sure if I get the point of the thread, but I think it wouldn't be too difficult to "housepetize" Bolt's movie. The situations in the movie are pretty similar to the ones you can find in the comic and the characters' personalities fits perfectly with the comic's cast. Gah! Now I want to see Bolt, Mittens and Rhino in Housepets' style!
Another movie could be Puss in Boots.

I think he'd make it through Frith's Blessing, and the bunny politics, but he'd definitely need smelling salts by the time they got to "Zorn... Zorn...".D-Rock wrote:Wow.Argent wrote:Watership Down.

What of Night of the Lepus!
Then there is the Plague Dogs, same writer, and same movie company that did Watership down.
only much darker and everyone dies...

Not at all! I actually thought the same thing when I was reading those strips for the first time. After all, isn't Charlie, as well as the other dogs in the movie, mostly cuadrupedal? Isn't the main human character in the movie a girl with miraculous ability to communicate with animals, but that would be absolutely redundant in the Housepets! world?D-Rock wrote:This does remind me of something I've noticed in one of the earlier arcs. I grew up with 90s TV series, and all the while, I thought John could understand every single thing Garfield said. I only came to suspect that John didn't understand all of Garfield's words when they went to visit John's family and his nephew was making pranks all the time and hen blaming Garfield for them, who couldn't defend himself because John didn't understand anything he said.snakebug wrote:Now that I think about it that reminds me of when I was younger with the garfield movies. I was thinking the same thing, but, oddly enough, this seems to have changed into webcomic speculation.copper wrote:This could easily translate into a forum game...

If it hasn't been said I think Cat's Dont Dance would lend itself well to the cast
Spike - "Seriously, a talking Dog is the weird thing about all this"
Me - "Not at all, the fact that you're a dog and not a lizard is much weirder"

*Points at name above my avatar* I'm named after a character from there. I drop references from there all over the place.snakebug wrote: What does watership down mean?
You're lucky I'm in a good mood. I'll let you live for asking that.
This time.
It's one of my all-time favourite books/movies.
Cats Don't Dance? That would go down well! Grape would love the idea of being told what she can and can't do like that!
I can imagine that Garfield wouldn't work nearly so well.
What about something purely animal-based like The Lion King? That would be cool to see in live action and filmed on location!
Redwall could be fun in that world. Can you just imagine getting that many mouse extras in one place?
They should do Dumbo! The actors would work for peanuts!
Do you think they would find G-Force a bit ridiculous?

You know, I'd be interested in seeing mock-ups of these movies but with Housepets styled characters. We have a gallery, we could post them there. Me, I can't draw very well.
